Bright yellow/orange returns off to my west-southwest getting ready to move in here within 20 minutes. I will report precipitation type once it gets here. Temp is at 28*.

Light freezing rain in Ballwin. If my patio is any indication, roads are probably going to be a mess.

This turning into a mostly ZR situation for the majority of the area is not good. Temps are in the upper 20's and there is still quite a bit to go downstream despite the quick movement.

Sleet mixing in with the heaviest returns over me now, but it's predominantly ZR. Roads look like a glazed mess.

Getting slick here in Litchfield. Just sprinkles, but enough to make things messed up.

Slick here. Unincorporated St. Charles has not treated our area. Honey just slipped on the front step, taking the dog out. No early church for us.

Roads are very hazardous here; there are numerous wrecks on I-57. Precipitation rates were high enough I believe there has been a lot of run off and things look just wet, but it's definitely very slick.

Slick here. Unincorporated St. Charles has not treated our area. Honey just slipped on the front step, taking the dog out. No early church for us. Our early church is cancelled. 1045 service is still up in the air. I didn't think it was going to amount to much of a a big deal so I didn't bother with my mantra. And now it's too late.

Not sure how much rain we've had. The Davis is obviously frozen. With what I heard overnight and what I woke up to on radar, I honestly thought it would be much worse outside. I'm sure roads are awful, but I expected to see way more ice on the deck and trees.

It's been a while since I've seen the roads look like a sheet of ice the way they do this morning. The MoDOT map makes it look like that it's that way all around the area. Can you even imagine what rush hour would look like if it was a weekday?

Freezing rain is like a bad ex girlfriend. Pretty to look at in the right light, but at the end of the day just a pain in the arse with no real redeeming qualities.
