Fast moving storms stink. The high numbers on the models from a few days ago would have been legit if this thing was half as fast.
Snow plow going through here now

Looks like I might get one more 'swipe' then out to clear the boat off. Moving to another place here next few weeks. Going from 560' elevation to 720'. Oh yeah, Ice age time baby.

Not thick flakes, but coming down hard in NoCo, and the wind is blowing hard to boot. Just a little over an inch as of 10 am.

I’d say 2.0”-2.5” right now should end up between 3-4” by 1pm great little storm, roads are definitely snow covered and slick the wind is blowing the snow across the farm fields and across hwy N , have not seen that in a while.

Hard to tell if it is falling or blowing...just going sideways... Gusty out there, solid 2" with 5" drifts 😂

Central Illinois looks like the place to be Thursday.
That is going to be frustrating.

99 how much snow you got up that way? I’m not in town but it’s a beautiful white scenery in Montauk Country. Please tell me you got up and caught that limit early..... I'm a trout fisherman myself, and now an envious one... have fun!!

I'd say today's event couldn't of possibility did any better than it had today given how disorganized it ended up being compared to several days ago. Sure it wasn't the beefy 6-10" that was originally shown, but it performed better then what most models where going with 1-3" Also seemed farther south then what was expected as well. Just not enough for the southern most counties to really cash in, but not bad in all.

This storm is like a miniature version of Jan. 4th 2014...pretty impressive for March. Not sure I've seen a storm like this so late in the season when you consider the powdery, blowing snow and temp crash with lows in the single digits to down around zero in the northern sections.

Now I'm getting the heaviest snow and the largest flakes I've seen since I got up about 7.
Not in a position to give a depth estimate but the grass is covered.

Id give the models a few days to get it figured out I'm on the southward train as well as models always push out these cold air mass out too quickly. Plus the system isn't that overly strong which will limit WWA to an extend likely keeping us frozen or at least a mix. GGEM also close to a blockbuster with Sunday's system with 6-10" north of I-70 but it's pretty much alone as both the GFS and EURO/ICON cut it up north and bring heavy rain and thunderstorms as far north as Chicago.

About ready to just have 70 degrees and hangout on the beach with all the misses.
