Had to scold a FB viewer on my live feed for making up a forecast about and EF4 tornado likely developing and moving east. I made the mistake of calling him a jerk... that may come back to bite me.

I was shocked when he tried that, Chris, and yes you were tired! You handled it fine and he had no business messing around like that.

What happened to you guys when storm passed? Radar looked pretty strong with the winds near you.. Not much of anything here. Looked worse to the north and to the south of us with only moderate wind gusts, very little rain less than 1/8 inch and no hail or lightning No limbs down of any size and that's unusual here. We're waiting for the out of storm winds later today. Had a brief heavy downpour, but that's about it. Started out gangbusters but never lived up to it after that

You’re definitely a jerk if your making up reports about a violent tornado forming. Good job to call them out Chris

Is it possible I had 2.94 inches of rain today.I am not reporting that I had that much but thats what the digital rain guage shows. That's what the digital says. But that seems high based on the 2.1 to 2.3 inch reports I have been seeing I am going to put my real rain gauge out for the next rain where I actually have to empty it lol

You’re definitely a jerk if your making up reports about a violent tornado forming. Good job to call them out Chris Oh you're much much more than a jerk if you're doing that because the only reason would be to cause a public panic. It's the equivalent of yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater. I'd be much more colorful in my language.

Few scattered mPing reports of wind damage showing up. Not at all surprising with what I hear going on outside.

I'd like to report severe small limb and small branch damage on scattered trees.

56mph gust at Spirit is the highest I've seen so far. Anybody got anything stronger?

I think I saw Dorothy and Toto go by. Does that count as wind damage or free air fare?

From about an hour ago. Boundary layer isn't all that deep up to 900mb, but winds are plenty strong there at ~45kts with little mechanical mixing below. And those are making there way down to the surface as gusts.

Yikes! Extremely wet soil and high winds equals tall trees falling over.

According to the NWS 66mph was the peak gust last night at Smart Field in St. Charles.

According to the NWS 66mph was the peak gust last night at Smart Field in St. Charles. I believe that was during the storm that blew threw though. That same report was on SPC. Yesterday sure didn't turn out to be much of a severe event...there were only 70 something reports total and only 3 or 4 between MO and IL. There were a few damaging tornadoes down south though, including some injuries. And that storm yesterday was easily one of the worst I've ever driven through. I was afraid of pulling over and getting rear ended because the visibility was so low!

Speaking of Radarscope, how do those of you who use it on Windows have any thoughts good or bad? Thinking of getting it this week as we finally acquired a Windows 10 machine.
Thanks...

Those winds were in the afternoon (with the storm) not last night.

Speaking of Radarscope, how do those of you who use it on Windows have any thoughts good or bad? Thinking of getting it this week as we finally acquired a Windows 10 machine. Thanks... I still primarily use Gibson Ridge GR Level 2 Analyst on my Windows PC because you can do more with it, but it is very pricey. RadarScope is a very reasonably priced alternative for the casual user. Works well for me and I would highly recommend it. I think you will want the Pro Tier 1 subscription which is fairly cheap at $10/yr. That gives you access to the 2 panel display and super-res reflectivity and velocity. Though I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, I actually have the Pro Tier 2 subscription which is pricey at $100/yr ($15/month), but it gives you access to the 4 panel display, 30-day archive, hail icons, and shear contours. Also Pro Tier 2 is a multi-device / multi-platform subscription which allows you full use on all your devices (Android, Windows, Apple - e.g. I use it on my Samsung phone, my AppleTVs, my Windows PC & Laptop, and my wife's IPad). My one complaint so far is that the archive mode seems a bit glitchy and unreliable on my PC. Hope that helps...
