Tomorrow nights storm will likely have very significant road impacts like last Sunday ground will be super cooled.again after today and tonight I could see single digits due to a little snow cover and very dry air. I am holding at about 1/4 inch of snow. But temp has evaporatively cooled to 17.7. So there are spots very icy but the sun angle and yesterday's warmth helped. In addition modot absolutely caked the roads and were very prepared. I threw a 40 pound bag on my 2 car driveway to hopefully keep it thawed all weekend. And since it seems like our hardware stores cant keep enough on the shelves.

Uneventful drive home. Roads were good. Heavy dusting at work to light dusting at home.

More snow than I expected in Edwardsville. Heavy dusting already. Thinking I'll come home to a few inches in Waterloo tonight. Just hope the drive home is ok.

17* and snowing at a good clip here in BG. Rooftops, car, and decks covered...yard has a heavy dusting so far. Hubby just got home and said roads are really slick here in town.

I think the roads will be fine with the solar insulation we are getting now but once the sun goes down things could get dicey

Got some nice big flakes flying in front of the camera there. Hoping to come home to a couple inches at the end of the work day. I think roads, especially down this way, are going to be awful as the sun starts to fade away.

Flake size and intensity has increased.
But it looks like this band currently will slide South and there is a lull along 64.
Hopefully the snow currently pushing in from the WNW doesn't completely collapse before it arrives.

Snowing good still in Edwardsville. Some snow on the roads in spots. Interstate is fine though the south bound 255 has a spin out near New Poag Rd that had traffic backed up.

The best chance for us to pick up real accumulation in the immediate metro is the next 2 hours

Snow all but ended in chesterfield between them... but looks to be filling in again.

Chris are you a bit concerned in a road stand point for tomorrow nights light event Nothing more than normal. You need to always be aware that roads may get bad when ice is falling on them. I dont see it being exceptionally cold...and temps tomorrow are likley to get above freezing...before dropping tomorrow night.

I was hoping for better accumulation on the pavement. I have a doctor's appointment today that I was looking to reschedule on account of the weather. Just wet streets in my neighborhood. I said yesterday that the ground temps would be an issue with highs in the 60s and many here said it would not...it sure was here as well for the first several hours.

Started sticking immediately. Bigger issue has been flake size. The dry air is really cutting them down into tiny salt shakers...except in the better bands.

Just washed the car to aggravate the snow gods. If that doesn’t work, the next thing I’m going to do is get the plow attached to the wheeler.
