Friv it is pouring snow, in that band along 70 is definitely producing , much bigger flakes piling up quick. I believe it. The banding looks intense.

I need to update my snow amounts. I'm in the garage and it's been snowing pretty hard for a little bit and I looked out on little lean-to cabinet type thing we have out there and it's looking like quite a bit of snow. So I go out there to measure and I come up with 1.5" there. it's just a piece of wood on an angle but its been out from the house a little bit, but it's been in complete shade all day. so probably a safe bet I could say inch and a half here from that anyway. I must have gotten a lot of melting out in front today. Still snowing pretty good.

Just checking back in and saw the video of the accident. It is incredibly graphic. And while it may serve a purpose to remind the public about respecting snowy roads...it likely also shows somebody's death... and at very close range. For that reason I have elected to take it down. I am sure you can find it on youtube if you are so inclined. I just don't think we need it in here. I was a transporter in high school at a local hospital and at the age of 17 I witnessed my first patient dying that we were trying to save. You can’t unsee that. And I can’t unsee that video. I wish I hadn’t clicked on It. Ugh.

Pouring snow in st.peters. that is a huge push of snow heading this way coming from Columbia. Then we should wind things down. But we all will likely be in the 2 to 4 range. Not a bad event at all

Really, really wish I hadn't watched that video. That's my fault, but that should have never even been a thought to post it. Can't believe someone would video that in the first place.
Snow trying to take back over in Perryville.

Todd, let us know what is falling under that red cell near Farmington. Crazy amount of sleet dropping? Any rumbles of thunder?

Todd, let us know what is falling under that red cell near Farmington. Crazy amount of sleet dropping? Any rumbles of thunder? It is mainly sleet, mixing back in with some snow. No rumbles

This has been one of the toughest forecasts of the season in my mind because of the need to gage the impact of the DAM. But as it stands right now...the forecast has played out pretty well. Of course there are a few exceptions... but I feel the public was very well served.
Time for bed. I have to cover for Jaime in the morning who sounds like she has been hit hard with the a flu-like bug.

Right at 3” in Wentzville still snowing very well. That ban is right along 70, I’m very lucky I did not expect this amount of snow.

2" in Belleville. Snow has tapered to flurries.
Looks like some weakening bands are about to roll through.
The lift is waining. You can see the dry air totally decimating what's left.

M1.25” in west Belleville Thinking I have a pretty good shot to hit 2” with this stuff tonight I measured like 1.85" on my deck. On the grass its an inconsistent 1.5". I am on the metrolink to Fairview station because I work at 11 in STL. Those bands moving into st Clair county haven't produced yet

Two inches of snow in Ballwin. It has almost stopped snowing and the sky is getting brighter. Hopefully one more band will find its way through here.

wsc what does next week storm look like for stcharles Decent shot at a couple inches of snow kicking over to ice and then ending as rain as things stand now. There is still a lot of time for things to change, but a solid advisory level storm seems possible at this range.

Looks like quit a few people including several to the north are gunna cash in with 3”. The lucky folks out in Owensville to Rolla get the elusive 4”. Someone on FB apparently measured 5” just north of Rolla. This has been a really great snowfall for most of us!

2.5" Perryville. I've lucked into some of the heavier local bands here. Should hit 3" by the end of it.

It looks like a decent batch of snow is moving in from the north west. That little vort that dropped in from Iowa has really reinforced the precipitation. The weather channel future radar which actually does pretty well, shows snow till about midnight. We had a break for a while now it’s back to a nice steady snow with good size flakes.
