Yea, this actually feels like the beginning of a pattern change now. This week will greatly underperform previous forecasts and that's a good thing. Let's all just hope it doesn't dry out completely now through the summer. That's always a concern of mine. Im ready for drought! My yard looks crappy right now because I cut it last weekend when it was too wet. Silly me... I was relying on forecasts that said it was going to rain all week long. What was I thinking??? Really though, I would like to get into a pattern where you get a nice .25 - .50 rainfall every 10 - 14 days. Im really feeling sorry for the local farmers. They cant get out and get their fields planted. Windows of opportunity will be closing soon. Could be a poor year for crops if things dont dry out soon. Many farmers are going to have to switch from corn to beans due to this wet weather

Side note... Anyone still finding Morels? I haven't had a chance to go in a while. Since it has been cool and damp, I would think they are still going.

I used to love the sound of rolling thunder from slow moving storms but living across a creek with no bridge that will flood after a prolong rain has me a little jumpy now. 😊 And from the look of the radar these storms are just creeping north. Still, have to love that sound as the thunder just echoes in this hollow.

That is a massive shield of pretty heavy rain across KS and OK!! And it's not moving very quickly so the totals are going to be healthy!

2.09 in after midnight. I've had standing water in the lowest part of the lawn seemingly for forever. The amount of water that we're receiving is just ridiculous.

I-29 is finally reopened betwened St. Joseph and Council Bluffs. Though from the sounds of the press release there must be some damage to the road itself on the Iowa side of the border. It's been closed for nearly 2 months; since the flooding in Nebraska. Press release

Any chance the rain holds off Sat. morning until lunch time? Have an outdoor job and was hoping it would hold off but models are a bit more aggressive with this system now.

Man, i don't want anymore flooding. I really don't. But I'm kinda bummed we haven't really seen any good severe storms around here. We've had a few but it's been a really dull season again. Next week looks dry and mild. Which we need of course. I guess I though this yr would of been better. Oh well, we still have about a month left of prime season.

Couldn't hardly get any significant blocking all Winter and early Spring but now with Summer around the corner it's block city with a strong negative NAO/AO and EPO. What a surprise...

From Baton Rouge earlier this week. Driver thinks he's above the law, including the laws of physics. Apparently he thought "turn around don't drown" is for everyone else

I don't want rain tomorrow morning. My little sister is graduating from McKendree with her criminal justice degree, and I would love it if the ceremony was outside. On the drive down we took the long way, due to all of the roads closed from the Missouri flooding.
