Do we repeat again today like the last two? Looks like there's a weak MCV drifting across N/central MO...would think that will stir up some storms later today.

Looks like a flash flooding event is unfolding out towards the Carlyle/Centralia/Salem/Flora region...very heavy thunderstorms are nearly stationary with backbuilding occurring. It started thundering around 4:30 pm and at that point everything was around Salem. It finally hit around 5:30 pm with 2 inches of rain in 40 minutes and another .75 before it was done. I sure hope we dodge this afternoon's development. June had over 9 inches of rain here and even though the pattern has changed for the last week and a half, low and behold we got "lucky" enough to be ground zero for another heavy rain event. The ground is so horribly saturated/water logged. On another note, Happy Independence Day everyone!

Visible sat shows an outflow boundary extending south/southwestward from the MCV with storms already starting to fire ahead of it...going to be another splattering of storms across the region today. We may get a break this afternoon/evening as that wave departs though...

Well...not a whole lot of development with that lead impulse/MCV so far and the mid-level low out near TOP is accelerating eastward...short-term/CAMs really light that up later today so festivities this evening could be in jeopardy in spots.

Have in laws who live in high ridge at paradise valley golf course but we are down the Ozarks. Sounds like there was flash flooding to the point of some neighbors reporting 8 inches in less than an hr some time around 4pm. Can anyone post the fancy 3D radar around then?
Sounds like may have been a micro burst because of all the tree damage and flash flooding.

Storms really starting to pop now Looks like they are focusing along the remnant outflow/differential heating zone left behind by the MCV...going to be an active day for sure as the mid-level low drifts across MO.

Out at the camper (Steedman MO, Callaway County) and radar indicated a heavy cell right overhead but all we got was a few gusts of wind with some lightning and thunder and spot sprinkles.

Looks to me like the metro will be ok for the most part as things appear to be staying to the nw. But what do I know.

I've got lots of rumbling and dark clouds overhead for the last half hour but so far it's been dry.

Looks like its moving out of my area. Barring any redevelopment should be pretty good out for evening activites. Definitely a lot cooler.

Happy Independence Day to everyone... A big thank you to all the servicemen and women and their families for their Service. My son-in-law was down in Mississippi for 2 weeks with Air Force Reserves, just got back last Friday. We were blessed with a 3 day stay of my daughter, granddaughter and new grandson. Oh darn😍

Was going to comment on the first cell that popped along the gust front in central Jeffco that was heading north opposite of the gust front and then it started raining here I had to rush around to put stuff up and now I see the radar. one formed pretty much right over De Soto and now it's heading north as the gust front is going east-southeast.

That batch storms over KC is hanging tough and fairly strong even after sunset. They going to hang together long enough to make it across the state?

Nws was spot in with the smoke forecast. I drove 2 miles home from my friend's and wow it was like driving in dense fog most of the way. Never have seen it like that before. It was crazy.

Hard to tell if it will keep slowly pushing east or drop south at this point.

Hard to tell if it will keep slowly pushing east or drop south at this point. Yeah, it looks like it's gotten a little southeast movement to it. More towards Lebanon and Fort Leonard Wood. There's still a slight eastward movement to it but that's almost glacial. Another batch in central Nebraska. But that is a long shot at this point.

Shot if the storm complex in Nebraska coming slowly in at sunrise. Humid as all get out here. Of course I'll be at work with no windows when this hits.

Anyone know?
