Managed to get .28" rain yesterday, though not much, it helped! Didn't do anything for the cracks in the lawn though.

So is that decaying MCS to our northwest going to ramp up the rain here due to the high PW values in the area?

Dark clouds and sprinkles one minute and sunshine and a good amount of blue sky 5 minutes later.
The constant is the humidity that can be cut with a knife.

Getting an actual tropical downpour now...very dense droplets. So how is a "tropical downpour" different than any other downpour? I have been to Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and several other countries along the equator. The difference is the cantaloupe sized rain drops! And the imediate evaporation as it hits pavement, which, in turn, creates a localized humidifier effect. Seen it, lived it.

Getting an actual tropical downpour now...very dense droplets. So how is a "tropical downpour" different than any other downpour? High moisture content(precipitable water) and warm cloud depths associated with tropical systems and airmasses create very efficient rainmaking processes...it tends to produce lots of smaller raindrops(except in thunderstorms which produce bigger drops) but adds up quickly.

Strong little shortwave coming down the northeastern flank of the ridge tomorrow late morning afternoon which could blow up some thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon which could help keep the mercury down tomorrow if the storm cluster verifies, still be as humid as heck though but won't be as oppressive. Thursday into Sunday looks sauna like however.
