Nice soaking rain this morning. We needed it. Between first getting plastered into the ground by tropical-style downpours and then no rain for the next month, we have some pretty ugly looking cornfields in the area. As long as it moves out in the next few hours, I'm good. We sold my dad's house in NA, and I took the Weber kettle that we used when I was a kid (40 years ago). Going to fire it up this afternoon to make sure it still makes good pork steaks and ribs.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's and thank you for the wishes. I just looked at Storm Total Rainfall map on NWS site and see central to eastern Jeffco got .5"-1.00" of rain overnight. Then I seen the other post's about it raining an hour or so ago. If you look at the latest image of the Storm Total Rainfall map, you could use it as a map to get to my house. In process edit: I just seen the FFW issued that says 2.5" of rain has fallen in places. Wow.

.54" overnight was observed by the Davis on the roof in North St. Pete! I was wondering how much we got overnight. I slept through it - didn't wake up until it had passed. Wife told me it woke her up a couple of times.

.37 this afternoon, 1.03 since midnight. We've been at Reelfoot lake for the last four days so I'm not sure when it rained. Only know what the "Davis that is not on the roof" said. We ended up with the same amount. That rarely happens.

.37 this afternoon, 1.03 since midnight. We heard the rumbles, but didn't get anything yesterday afternoon. Like showtime said, about 1/3 of an inch. At least it didn't come in 10 minutes like the May storms.

Here is the current NASA GEOS analysis and forecast for the SAL. Forecasts can be found at fluid.nccs.nasa.gov/weather/ in the chem maps section. As you can see the SAL is forecasted to move into Arkansas. I would imagine this would be quite noticeable there given the optical thickness being forecasted. Here in St. Louis...not sure yet.
