12z EURO a little more broken and disjointed with the upper-level pattern... another one where it cuts off too early and it all comes down in a jumbled mess. This may be the actual winter preview... real talk! Really hope the jet takes time to slow down and let something dig...

With any luck you will get a new thread this weekend.
fun setup early next week as we try and pin down the evolution of the new trough. Looks like a decent shot at widespread showers/light rain Monday. I could see temps staying in 50s all day if the energy pivots overhead.

Hopefully enough rain to settle the dust and wash some of the pollen out of the air..

Hopefully enough rain to settle the dust and wash some of the pollen out of the air.. Currently dealing with the worst case of hayfever I've possibly ever had...bad enough to call off work for. We definitely need the rain...the dust has been bad during the afternoons. Amazing how the faucet just turned off...but somewhat typical for this time of year.

I worked from home because my symptoms fall in the grey zone and could have been covid... so I got tested which is auto quarantine until results come in. They came back negative yesterday so it was back to the office today.

Even though it's been cool the last few days we've left the house closed and the a/c on. Just too much gunk in the air.

Oof. That 12z EURO H5 chart would be a brutal pattern in January. Vort after vort... screaming NW flow.

Oof. That 12z EURO H5 chart would be a brutal pattern in January. Vort after vort... screaming NW flow. You have to think this pattern will re-emerge at least several times during the coming winter season...not too often you see a close encounter with the vortex in late September/early October.

Upstream obs suggest a run into the 90s tomorrow...but a good steady breeze should take the edge off.

But don't get too excited. With it being 2020, it'll probably be flammable snow.

I helped my neighbor power wash his driveway, and by help I mean I did it all as he is unable. Thats what friends do... anyway... was very pleasant and the breeze kept it so.

Tied to till the garden under today. It would have been easier to till a concrete driveway!

Looking like frost is possible next weekend with favorable cloud/wind conditions as a seasonably cold airmass moves in. Great conditions for the bow hunters!
