Ugh...somebody had to remind me that the days are getting shorter. My fav holiday is coming up though...beyond that, not so much a fan. I know winter is alot of ppls favorites, but to me its all about rain and 30s. Those occasional snowstorms just dont make winter my fav season. Enjoying this time of year with day after day in the 80s.

Same thing here. It's what we have to deal with living where we do. But I think I would go bananas if we started getting significant snow in early October and it hung around until April along with weeks of zero or sub-zero temperatures

According to Variety a remake of Twister is in the works. Not sure how I feel about this.

But then again, I'd like to see another Twister movie. But i think it shouldn't be a reboot. They need to do a continuation to the original. I am so sad that Bill Paxton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are not with us any longer. But they could easily pay tribute to both. Helen Hunt definitely needs to reprise her roll. Along with the rest of the gang.

Does this Saturday look like pop ups or more organized? We have a kayak float trip. Rain doesn’t bother me much but the others it will. Thanks

Thanks Not much forcing to speak of other than what appears to be an MCV that drifts to our north...storms should be pretty isolated or scattered unless a composite outflow sags into the area which is possible. What river are you floating? I hit the Meramec last weekend and we got rained on a couple times from pop ups but the weather was beautiful otherwise.

Usually float during the week to avoid the heavy crowds so I can fish somewhat peacefully but this was set up by some friends. I don't mind a chance of rain as it may keep the crowds down a bit.

Paxton wanted to do another if Helen agreed! But it never happened and he died! I am curious to see who is cast!

Dust cloud probably going to really nip our rain chances the next several days in the bud for the same reason it suppresses tropical activity. Until that clears it's going to get pretty tough to get storms going. Sunsets and Sunrises could be interesting starting Saturday into much of next week though. It does appear that the 'worst' of the Summer season in regards to heat and humidity is on track starting tomorrow into mid July but there is increasing and interesting trends that the ridge could retrograde westward which would carve out a trough in the Great Lakes into the Ohio Valley which could set us up for northwesterly flow and storm complexes overriding the ridge into our area. Maybe wishful thinking but I Believe even Dave said the worst and driest part of the Summer would be June into mid July with increasing wetness as the season progresses.

Pretty sure there was visible dust last night...was in St. Louis a little after midnight and the crescent moon just above the horizon was very red tinted.

Looks like yet another GFS model upgrade is in the works. TT has a new para-GFS model now up.

I ran across this 10 year time-lapse of the sun. I have only made it through 10 on a cell phone. I can't wait to pipe it through the TV screen. Even on the small screen it was amazingly clear. The boundary from tonight’s storms to the north is looking like it will setup roughly along 70 tomorrow. Could be a wet day if that happens

Heres something called the NASA DUST-Global that shows the path and thickness of the Saharan dust. Looks like it won't get to bad in the Midwest. Should make for some cool sunrises and sunsets

Rain chances are going the wrong direction..... we went from a 70% chance to now a 40 % chance.... farmers really need some rain down this way
