Just dropped down to 28°F with steady light freezing rain. Things could get interesting fast at that temperature.

Roads I just drove on were just wet. Seems like a whole lot of nothing. Just wet...lol It only takes one ice patch to change that for a human life. But as be synoptic winter event this event was it doomed to never do those ridiculous ice graphics justice. But I think everyone here understood that.

The short range models are now putting out a solid advisory level snow Saturday.
And every model has a great track and upper level evolution if you want an accumulating snow through the immediate metro to the E/NE
The system looks really good. It checks a lot of boxes.

Just wet roads here, but elevated surfaces are beginning to get the look of a light glaze/sheen. I have to admit I've got more elevated ice than I thought I would have 24 hours ago. I was thinking this far east was going to be above freezing for the entire event...31* currently.

It's raining pretty hard here..
I'm 50 feet above the ground and deck is railings are slushy.
But it's not the solid ice accretion you expect with a major event.
Central MO is probably icing up much better

Sounds good, if that includes this far east...lol. I want a good snow for those of you west too ofc.

Temp keeps floating between 31-32°. Don’t think there was a pellet of sleet fall. All I seen was freezing rain all night. When precip picked up in intensity it would actually start to melt some of the ice on the patio table. I have a spot in the lawn that puddles and it is not frozen either. Gravel driveway is slick in spots. I’ll find out road conditions shortly as I’m about ready to go check on my clients lots.

We just finished a second salting, untreated surfaces we’re pretty icy, the heavier precipitation actually melted some of the ice on pavement. Temps are 31-32 throughout the area . Bridges and overpasses were by far the worst earlier. North facing lots and walks keep refreezing some , south facing stuff not so much. Definitely an advisory storm but not really a big deal. Trees and grass have a nice coating on them not sure if it will last till daylight. Hopefully we get some snow tomorrow night, several models now show it developing south and east of the metro area .
