That back edge is really moving quickly up from the south.....I’m going to wait until that gets closer so I dont get soaked with the heavy precipitation falling now.

Yes I guess that storm is not as solid as models showed yesterday. I have not looked into since yesterday.

The ole dreaded dry slot coming in fast. Precipitation will likely shut down for awhile before the def zone “rain” brushes us later today. I can’t believe how much ice and snow Oklahoma has received this year . We can’t buy an inch or nice winter storm.

FRZR and 31* in Brighton, but only about 0.1" on elevated surfaces from the looks of it and everything has that drippy/melty look to it...definitely dealing with warm drops and not supercooled ones which prevented this from being a major ice storm in the Metro. We really dodged a bullet Happy New Year!

I haven’t been out to assess, but for the past hour my crews have been extremely busy with trees / power lines down

Just woke to power coming back on. Not sure when it went off, but apparently awhile back, down to 65 in the house.

31-32 area wide at 8am , the gfs and NAM 34-35 by 4am did not happen and the gems were to cold . The northeast wind is still feeding cold air into the storm. It’s still 31-32 all the way through most of southern and south west Missouri. The warm never really surged overnight. Definitely some cool looking tree and plant ice . I just drove from earth city to wentzville roads are pretty good, but bridges and overpasses are slushy still .

Average 1/8” or a little less, I guess. Less on top of branches, more on bottom, not counting the drips. Gravel road is slick, but also has some puddles.

Models overall were definitely too aggressive with lifting the boundary and SLP northward and the warmer air never made it. If it weren't for toasty mid-level temps, this would have been a major, destructive ice storm. Sure would be nice to get some snow flying later today as the mid-level low/trof swings thru. Tomorrow still looks like a decent shot of light snow with potential for bursts of heavier, accumulating snow in spots. Somebody might get a sloppy inch or two.

Looks like we received a couple tenths of accumulation on elevated surfaces, at least in my location east of KFAM

a lot of ice in tress here. Easily 2-3" icicles hanging from everything. Driveway just looks wet. Temp 31*. Cedar trees look pretty bad and droopy around the property. Glad I haven't lost and hope I don't lose power. 7 miles west of De Soto.

I'm about 6 miles north of Sullivan, I'd estimate 0.20" of ice on trees and grassy areas. I have a nice picture, but cant get it to share..... sorry all. Its up to 29 degrees now

Pretty decent accretion even here in the far east. I'd say close to a tenth of an inch on trees.

Tomorrow night may produce a couple distinct bands of 1-2, maybe a touch more. I could see some doing well and others with a dusting at best.

The GEM deserves some major props for this system. It was the only model not to bail way west with it. Euro, GFS, EPS, GEFS, ICON all took the bait and tried wrapping this storm up into a monster once it ejected.

Euro, GFS, EPS, GEFS, ICON all took the bait and tried wrapping this storm up into a monster once it ejected. The GEM is the most underrated model out there, IMO...it does still have a bit of a cold and at times, intensity bias...but it often outperforms other models. I've noticed that it tends to do better during split flow/La Nina regimes than the other globals.

Steady drizzle falling here in Brighton but the trees are starting to drip pretty good now with the temp hovering right around 32*
