I know this is shocking but it looks like we will just miss out on today’s snow lol You didn't get any snow a couple days ago?? We had about 20-30 mins of crazy heavy snow in Belleville/Swansea leaving a quick half inch. In fact some even lasted on North facing grassy areas through early yesterday morning. But yeah it looks like flakes with this will stay to close to 44 for you. However you are looking to be in a nice spot for 1-2" tomorrow.

well, on to tomorrow, we need this system to get a bit stronger earlier so we can pick up a couple inches over here instead of IL hogging it all.

What a day! After rising to power going off and on, realized we had no heat! After several hours, figured out the fan motor was the problem. Thankful to have an uncle that is a HVAC guy and he had a replacement motor! Now to the football game! As far as precip, snain occasionally switching to all rain and then all snow. As I typed this it has switched to all snow. 33°

The energy for tomorrow's system is still in Northern Mexico/Baja California. Models won't get a good look at the energy until tomorrow's 12z run

The fzdz threat Sunday evening/night may be the most impactful event this weekend.

Looking at sat pics yesterday I was surprised at how close the 2 storms were. It looks like now the storm in IL is starting to rocket NE and Saturdays's system is still somewhere in MX. It looks like the mountains in MX are weakening/shearing the storm. Hopefully the separation now will allow Saturday's system to strengthen a little on approach....I can hope right?

You mean Sunday evening coz? What do you look for on a freezing drizzle threat? It looks like we could have some tonight as well

I have not seen anything about freezing drizzle on sunday. It's supposed to be well in to the 40's. But coz has called these before.
I have more melting now than I did all day. Sounds like it's raining.

Sorry, was trying to add photos, but I seem to have forgotten how to do it. I tried to link from imgur. If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it..thanks! Highlight your photo with your finger or clicker on your computer on the imgur pic. Hit copy post link, then go to the desktop version of Chris's Corner. Hit the image icon which it looks like you did. Then paste that copy post link you copied into the first text box. I like to delete the https:// before I paste because the copy post link version already includes that. Let me know if you can't get it to work!

Just looking at some soundings... particularly the NAM. Lowest 1000ft or so is saturated and it is actually printing some fzdz on the precip charts.

The fzdz threat Sunday evening/night may be the most impactful event this weekend. 18z NAM soundings agree. A nice warm wedge with a steep small shallow layer of cold. Stimulated radar depicts it being patchy freezing rain at midnight-6am Mon. Since you mention that the lowest 1000mb or so is saturated (temp and dew point are equal), do you think there could be freezing fog at the surface as well?

Just looking at some soundings... particularly the NAM. Lowest 1000ft or so is saturated and it is actually printing some fzdz on the precip charts. The liquid if it's not tiny sleet pellets will also be "cooled".. So even if temps are like 29 to 30 degrees. The drizzle should freeze on contact.

Frivs may be on to something about a possible advisory level snowfall for parts of the area tomorrow evening per the last paragraph of the short term section in the evening disco. Although, it says IF the storm can strengthen earlier than what current models have it.
