Frivs may be on to something about a possible advisory level snowfall for parts of the area tomorrow evening per the last paragraph of the short term section in the evening disco. Although, it says IF the storm can strengthen earlier than what current models have it. Yeah I agree! If the neg tilt of the lowest closed off 500mb heights associated with the vorticity maximum here at 06z Sun on the 18z NAM happens only 2-3 hours earlier over central MO that could make a difference IMO. 1+ in amounts would then be more common. I think you, FRIV, and the eastern burbs will be the winners in terms of snowfall tomorrow into Sun.

Gulf just doesn't want to hook up with the damn thing until it's east

The dynamics literally come together right on top of St. Louis. If we could get things 2-3 hours earlier that would really help with the snow . Still looks like 1/2” or less with 1” or less on the Illinois side

My expectation for tomorrow’s event is a light dusting. That might be asking to much

The 00Z nam for tomorrow is funny.
Just totally taking a dump on us.
If you run the simulation radar from the NAMNEST on COD WEATHER MODELS...
it's truly be a pinwheel to nothing tomorrow

Some models are hinting at a band of snow across central Mo tomorrow that falls apart as it moves east and precipitation to begin blossoming to our east as the system tries to strengthen. That would leave STL in a snow hole lol

RAP suggest a period of freezing drizzle/rain tomorrow before the potential snow. Surface temps are right at freezing, but the droplets would be cold with well below freezing mid level temps

Had a good hour of snow falling today but nothing would stick. Just to warm. Still sitting at 33 here. I just want enough to coat the ground lol

And to top it off and continue the atmosphere's bad habits from 2020 in STL...the 00z GFS looks too warm for the Thurs system next week, but it's a long 6 days out haha

The 6z NAM looks better than 0z more moisture. The HRRR and RAP look ok, not as good as the NAM . Still looking like the 1/2” or less type storm maybe a little more in spots. There’s some spotty fog and drizzle/freezing drizzle out right now, I was out doing refreeze salting and noticed it.

Woke up to a dusting of snow in Festus, I was shocked! Roofs are kinda white and our red truck the same, but the branches on the trees went from shiny to somewhat white! I was thrilled! Maybe we’ll get more? Hope hope

I’ll never take another fzdr event lightly after that debacle a few years ago Big difference this time over the last time that happened. Ground was frozen and there wasn’t any salt brine or left over salt residue unlike this time there isn’t frozen ground and plenty of residual salt on roads, parking lots, sidewalks etc.
