NAM still looks solid nice 8-12 hours of waa snow. All overnight, this should help it accumulate this time

I don't think accumulation is going to be a problem, lol.

I think I would go with 2-5 inches in the metro.

Also FYI Schnucks is busy... I can't 'imagine' why? Have to go in later @ 4-10PM so things will be fun especially first half. Dierbergs at 79 Crossing is also busy. Wife just stood in line for 15 minutes to do the weekly grocery shopping. Not even the milk - bread - eggs thing

Even if it’s .30 liquid if it’s anything like today, 3-6” is still totally inline . I’m not concerned at all that’s plenty of work. I would like to see around 5-6” that would be awesome

Hard to measure with the blowing, but it seems like we've got close to 3" snow depth here in Brighton. Tomorrow will be a legit snow-on-snow event if we get several inches. Hard to complain about that.

Even at these temps and with very little sun watching the snow on the south facing slope outside my window sublimate a bit.

12z euro ensembles are also suppressed with the Thursday storm.
Hopefully, several inches fall over the next 36 hours to cap off an epic stretch of cold.

We can go back to the 50/60 degree winters and all day December/January rains of the last several years if that’s what you’d prefer 99. Be grateful we’ve had some actual winter this year. And pretty hardcore stuff too. We don’t live in Michigan, we are lucky to get it when we do.

Way to much complaining in here, people complain when it’s warm and we don’t get snow, and now we’re complaining that because it’s too cold the snow we have received started to melt “ in spots” and how bad it’s going to be tomorrow night because we’re not getting 6-8” . Pretty much every model and most ensembles have some snow here mid week, the euro has some light snows from the Ukmet is barely missing the area. Let it ride , if we get skunked tomorrow and we only get two inches then yes let’s all complain about how terrible it’s been. We have salted at least once every day since last Saturday. That is truly very rare for St. Louis and it looks like it will continue possible through Thursday or Friday

So the big snow threat for the St. Louis metro is pretty much a bust?

Agreed this stretch of winter weather is quite rare let alone by the end of this depending on location from north to south 13 to 16 days of temps below freezing is unusual. I am worried bout numerous water main breaks when the ground.thaws.

And i feel a 3 to 5 inch snow is respectable for this area especially on top of a few inches. This will put the metro in the 8 to 12 inch total for the winter which is not the worst ever

no, what's pathetic is we get 3-5, while OKC is getting they're 4the winter storm of the season, Dallas will likely get more than us and those placed will probably be hit again midweek. Patterns lie this only come around every so often, and we missed it pretty much, except for the cold.

So the big snow threat for the St. Louis metro is pretty much a bust? Yes. At this point we just need this to not become any more disorganized. As it stands now we are looking at 2 to 3 separate waves of snow because of disorganized. Luckily they do cover the entire metro. I don't like that there is definitely room for this to end up being a 1-3" event. And if folks aren't disappointed with that then that's fine but I would be

Guessing we have about 2” on the ground here in Arnold. The mixture of snow and freezing rain makes for some awesome sledding. Tomorrow will be a legit snow on snow event with temps near zero. Amazing stretch of winter weather

Patterns lie this only come around every so often, and we missed it pretty much, except for the cold. Agreed. In the 1970s this would have yielded 2 feet+ It's possible ratios could produce like 25-1. I don't know. The lift is spread throughout the column. Which doesn't reach full saturation as well. It helps that the DGZ is pretty deep. In fact in-between times of deeper lift tomorrow. The NAM shows a couple hoursc where the only lift is from the surface to 850mb. Funny enough the column is like -12 to -14C. So that would be ideal for ice crystal growth

If we only get 1-3” , yes I will be disappointed, but we picked up about an 1” of powder with like .02” qpf today , that wasn’t really modeled or forecast. This storm has decent potential hopefully the ratios are as good tomorrow night, if so it should be a nice decent moderate snow. With 15-22 mph winds and temps near 0 it’s going to be something we very rarely see here.

So are we thinking nothing Monday evening now? Or is that the second wave that may miss Stl south. I’m more curious about Farmington and Jefferson county for anything Monday evening for round 2. Thoughts? (And yes, I have read all of the previous pages, but I know once we write off Stl for a round there usually isn’t a lot of talk about it. Just curious!)
