That little Fgen band the NAM and GFS show on Monday PM into Tuesday AM is interesting...would lay down a couple inches or so along I-70 if they verify.

Temp is 33.2. Still cant get below freezing yet in the metro. If we can keep this up after midnight and if temps can slip below freezing we may need to watch those overpasses and ramps.

Not even a dusting... Pathetic. Yea short term models are having a bad week.....what makes this year so aggravating is that there is snow all around us but it just won’t snow here....it’s maddening

Lightest of dustings on the deck when I got up this morning. If it's still falling I can't see it.

29F, salt shaker stuff coming down in Edwardsville with a small band rotating through. Looks better than yesterday because it's actually accumulating on everything with the below freezing temps.

Pencil eraser flurries in Marissa. I'll be the first to admit I haven't paid much attention to the weather lately, since it's been a little on the boring side. Did we have a night in the single-digits earlier this winter? The lack of a true cold snap is what I've really noticed so far this year. Transient junk.

That FGEN band could be one of the best accumulations of the winter especially for areas N of I-70. Solar insolation shouldn't be a problem as it looks to begin after 6pm tomorrow. Unfortunately, the 12z NAM doesn't look as promising. Who knows though.

Lowest temp of the season at KSTL is 10F Christmas morning. Lowest temp in January so far...26F. I've been colder in Wildwood, but that 26* is remarkable since we are more than half way through Jan. We've had so many days of stratus clouds!

I have recorded 24 one night. The rest of January has been 28 to 35 nearly every night in my area. Thats part of why it is so hard to get snow to stick. My pavement temperature has only been below freezing 3 times this winter. Granted I do have an asphalt driveway that holds warmth. So while days have been relatively average nights have been a constant 5 to 10 above average.

12z GFS is really progressive with the pattern. I'm tried of seeing energy cut to our northwest, be missed to our north and south, and blow up east of us. I have to tip my hat off to Dave Murray, he's been fairly accurate with his winter forecast thus far!
