Sitting at .7" for the season in Ballwin. At this point, it's looking like we might not even break an inch come spring. To think I used to look forward to winter every year..

The GFS is basically vacating all cold air in the medium and long range. I do believe it is time to move on from this "winter" unfortunately. It got me good this time - looked legit there for a couple days. I'm not giving up yet...there's a good chance models aren't handling the large scale pattern change well. But if they're right in pulling back the trof into the GoA again towards months end...then yeah, it's pretty much toast.

I believe that Dave did say this Winter is not going to make “snow bunnies happy”. I was so hoping he was going to be wrong. Ugh

Might as well root for the futility record at this point. If were going to have a bad winter might as well make it historically bad

Ugh Someone metioned the other day that Dave's forecast is coming to fruition. If it holds up the rest of the winter, we might as well pray for sun and warmer temps...because cold w/o snow is just boring.

What sucks is that it hasn't been all that mild this winter...we've never really had any true blowtorch pattern develop. If it's not going to snow, I'd just as well it be in the 60s like it was much of the 2011/2012 winter. This cloudy, cold and damp weather is a bummer!

I hope winter doesn't try to make a comeback in early spring like the last couple of years. I can suffer through a bad winter if it means a good severe weather season

Looks like some of you guys are finally starting to realized what I did a few weeks ago. This is just not our season again. Not saying we wont have a few storms still. Its just that I was really hoping we would of had a couple of good ones by now. 😕

Ensembles seem to hint at a system around Jan 25-26 time range.

Shows a low around the boot heel and snow as close as the northern metro in about a week.

Well good news, clipper is coming farther south so the metro is now in the bullseye. Bad news too warm to snow let alone stick. Unless of course rates get heavy enough to cool the column down some.

If it holds up the rest of the winter, we might as well pray for sun and warmer temps...because cold w/o snow is just boring. At this point, even Dave's conservative forecast of 12-14in of snow average for the region for this season is WAY too generous. We're halfway through winter and sitting at 1". If this pattern keeps up and we don't luck out we might be looking at one of the least snowiest winters on record in STL. So incredibly boring. I'm tired of bone-chilling COLD rain and flurries. And my 3YO hasn't been able to use the new sled I bought him for Christmas yet. The national snowfall map is particularly depressing. Parts of Texas have had over a foot of snow so far. TEXAS!

It's exactly where it was forecast to be, and most of it isn't even reaching the ground anyway.
Yawn.

GFSv16 at 12z is showing 2 La Junta Lows headed our way in 7ish days. What is sad is at the start of the run it looked like a La Junta Low was going to get going but.....it headed west. Maybe that could have been upslope snow in CO. That sums up the winter so far for me. Glimmers of promise dashed with painful reality. Although, I did just read someone's post about the Euro, so I guess there is still a chance.

I’ll take two La Junta low tacos with a side of salsa and guacamole please , followed by just one true 3-6” snow for dessert

I am sitting at 44* 7 miles west of De Soto between radar echos. Is all that dark green and yellows on the radar just north of STL rain? ?

That band near Troy has got to have some big flakes in it, there’s no way that’s just rain with that much yellow and red
