I just looked at radar and I am leaning in my chair trying to get the storm to move more to the southeast to give me a good shower... Well it just spilt around me so maybe you have a chance lol

Sitting here at SLU. Thundering just north of campus. Cell doesn't seem to be moving much, but at least the breeze is picking up. Hopefully it gets it out of its system by the time I end class at 5:00.

Got lots of thunder for the last half hour and now a dark cloud rolling over. But so far not a drop of rain.
Edited to add: wind is really picking up - probably 40 mph

I had enough rain to get everything wet with small puddles. Hopefully the atmosphere didn't suck it back up before the grass and plants benefited some.

I have lots of thunder to the north again......demerson, what kind of 'voodoo' are you using to keep the rain away. The thunder is close enough I can hear it inside the house with windows closed.

Seems to have developed into a pretty solid line up north. Any chance that will speed up and come south before dying?

Tropical Storm Ida may have to contend with some restricted outflow and/or shear on the west side once it enters the Gulf. You can see this on various upper air charts from the GFS and ECM. Tougher for storms to ramp up to intense level without that ideal light shear dual outflow channel setup. Hopefully this is real and keeps Ida in check as it's passing through the absurdly high oceanic heat content eddy (should it track through the loop current as projected).

Bit of a western trend with Ida on the models this eve.
