drove frank Scott between main and 161 in Belleville. 2 large sugar maples down at west main. Both tops pointing north west. Another toward 161 was being cleaned up so couldn't determine direction.

Just heard from niece. Family got to his house. He lives in a home that is partially below ground. They described it, saying it looks like a bull dozer plowed into it, pushing it from front to back. He was trapped in the debris & is being taken now to Mercy hospital. Don’t know the extent of injuries. I feel like we dodged a bullet here. My son& wife have a business on Columbia St. In Farmington & thankfully that place has a huge basement. He assured me they were all fine. Thanks for updating us, prayers with you all. So glad that everyone is still with you. Yes, prayers and good thoughts for your family.

Rolling into our 24th hour with no power here in Fredericktown. Just incredible damage along this tornado's path. What's also incredible is how this tornado targeted the most vulnerable point in our power infrastructure. Really hoping to get the drone up tomorrow and fly the path. Chalk another up for our own little tornado alley of Madison County. Crazy how these storms follow a somewhat similar path over the years.

We went just over 24 hours before power finally came back up. We saw 5 utility trucks working all day from about 7am on where the lines were down. They shut the road down for the day. Crazy to see pics of the tornado and think it crossed our road just a mile up from our house! Thankful no one was injured!

Chris, that aerial view you cut to of house & barn belongs to John Gonz. He is my niece’s father-in-law. He was trapped for while. Luckily, he sustained only minor injuries. I had posted about him that night. He had been at my niece’s house for dinner but left early because of the storm.

Any survey done at Annapolis? No tornado or other office's responsibility

Here's the PPF for Sunday's severe event. It looks like a moderate to high outlook would have verified over most of the area. Definitely one of the bigger severe weather outbreaks we've seen locally in quite some time.

I got to spend the day today with Mr. Glass and Mr. Britt of NWS St Louis doing damage surveys in St Francois and Ste Genevieve counties. It was very informative, certainly taught me a lot about assessing damage taking the overall picture into consideration and not getting too focused on damage you might see to an individual structure. Both are obviously very good at what they do and very knowledgeable in their field. And kudus to Mr Glass who was issuing the warnings Sunday night, he kept ahead of the rapidly developing situation and should receive the credit deserved for no doubt preventing serious injuries and/or the loss of life.

There are some epic 00z euro ensemble runs for the 7-10 day period.
Ensemble members 13 and 20 are my favorites.
Ensemble member 20 has 20 inches of snow over Farmington 😂

Probably won't happen, but fun to look at and shows the magnitude of the airmass coming down. The pattern continues to show promise as we head into the cool season.

For a while I had a program that would insert current data into the original Weather Channel graphics package. Was interesting, but constant changes in the data stream required a tedious number of updates.

12z operational euro is close to a fun outcome in the day 7-8 period.
Definitely worth keeping an eye on.
12z gfs ensemble run had a few hefty members on the snow front.

Still solidly in the "things could change range" but if this signal is still present by this weekend, we're gonna have our first watcher of the season.
