My god, the updated forecast is atrocious. Near 90 all weekend. 80s when it's not. As summer hangs on. Mind numbing heat. Lol. Hopefully we go from persistent ridging now to persistent troughing down the road. Because, ewww.

I had a morning shower 7 miles west of De Soto and a few drops here and there since. I would quantify this area as a 'have not' today.....so far.đ«đ«đ« Yep. Just finished mowing, was expecting to be interrupted by rain but never got a drop.

We got like 30" of snow in 2007/2008 with three whopper defo zones...just saying!
I already like the trend of digging waves into the 4 corners and ejecting out into the Plains. And early signs of blocking, which is supported by the easterly QBO. We can hope...

Mid 90s now forecasted for Sunday. Records will crumble this weekend. Oh I'd love to have it be a bit hotter and hit 100 on Sunday just to destroy and crush the all time record high for the month. Also trends pointing towards a 2016-2017/2011-2012 type Winter season. In other words trends look grave for Winter weather lovers but awesome for heat lovers. Usual caveats could be completely wrong as a pattern can change very quickly when it wants to, but nothing really showing that in any range. Northwest and Alaska into western Canada look to be the big winners this Winter with pretty much nothing south of I-80 cold and or snow-wise, even Chicago struggles.

Ya thatâs about right on schedule for the first âcancel winterâ post
Also bringing in Reyes there was a very poor choice.

Lol at the long, long range GFS. First digital snow of the year! Looks great, must be catching on to the potential PV displacement. I assume accumulating snow before Halloween would be a record

It wouldn't surprise me if we got a strong shot of cool air and maybe even a few flakes later this month considering how amplified the pattern has been. Seems to make sense if you buy into the "rubber band theory".

That SPC extended outlook Day 4 30% area is about the size of or even smaller than many watch boxes. The outlooks aren't necessarily intended to convey the counter-hypothesis (low threat or no threat) from the un-delineated area but I can imagine some people view them that way. Anyway these high probability small coverage extended outlooks may portray to some consumers a level of skill in extended range severe forecasting that I'm not sure is actually there.

Mid 90s now forecasted for Sunday. Records will crumble this weekend... where are mid 90s forecasted, and by whom? cite sources. Removed with the evening package, NWS had it for downtown, now just upper 80s. Models have backed off as well last few cycles with mainly low to mid 80s. yesterday they were on fire, less so today likely as climatological factors have kicked in. Regardless whether it's 85 or 95, point is it's steamy for mid October.
