Last few frames in SW Mo look like it’s starting to fire up.

Last few frames in SW Mo look like it’s starting to fire up. That’s the area we really need to watch this evening. Anything that forms there will move NE within a very supportive Tornadic environment.

None of this was to really begin until after dark..after 6pm even. Come on people. Not completely true...models had suggested that the shortwave lifting NE towards us would break the CAP and initiate convection across Central MO but that hasn't been the case. The lack of gusty winds at the surface suggests there's still a low/mid-level inversion in place.

Having said what I did in the last post, I am a bit surprised to see the storms firing in SW MO like they are. Not sure any models had that.

Looks like the CAP is finally eroding across MO along the leading edge of stronger height falls ahead of the primary trof. Things could get nasty quickly...

You can feel the difference outside now. Something clicked. Windy and more humid now. Everything is soaked from the humidity.

Mesoanalysis shows 400-600 0-1km SRH across eastern Missouri, 80kt+ effective bulk shear. Won't take much to get this storms to start rotating.

What do you think about timing for metro? 10-11p?

One of the storms by the lake is moving at 90 mph, it will be here in hour and a half at that speed

On radar scope, what velocity do I want? I have Tilt 1 but it looks different than usual.

Maybe the very fast storm motions are playing tricks of the radar velocity. Only thing I can think of

But also not completely sure about that.

Ya this is looking very worrisome if current trends hold. The environment around here is only going to get more supportive for tornadoes and severe weather the next 2-3 hours
