Lol...my first thought was that the 17" modeled snow depth was unrealistic. I'm pretty sure what you all can guess is my opinion of the 34" Kuchera total in my backyard.

Snow , post the GEM Kuchera once it comes, it’s probably one for the record books definitely looks like 30” + in the area

That would bury St. Louis for a week, absolutely crush most snow companies.

It has about 1.5" of QPF in the metro area with about half of that being mostly rain.

I guess I shouldn't have talked up the GFS so much...it sure is doing some goofy things with the parcels of energy that comes ashore and digs as this is developing.
But from what I've seen...and I'm still digging in...nothing that is too concerning for the overall picture.

GEM is like one of those storms where a large swath of rain goes SW to NE and everyone says “imagine if this was snow”. Yet, this really is.

Boston had a 35 db or so band sitting over them right now. An absolute shellacking.

Honestly our season digital total should be closing in on 300 to 350 by now lol.
Now all seriousness, I hope some idiot does not post that on any news network.

That would bury St. Louis for a week, absolutely crush most snow companies. That would be an understatement......one could only clear that much with heavy equipment and pusher boxes, which out here in my area is few and far between especially the pusher boxes. Heavy equipment is there but most of those guys have already done their snow removal career and most likely stay home regardless if they are needed.

Heck, schools took off for a week when we got a 10-12” in 2014 with severe cold after.

GEFS mean QPF is up to almost 2" in the metro Southern and eastern counties are over 2" Yep. When GEFS shows area wide 8-12” it’s time to strap in.

My sites I have mostly large wheel loaders /skids and many big pusher boxes . I only have 6 plows/salters for salting and feeding the big equipment. I could handle a ton of snow , but most companies are not set up like that. I’m sure it will never happen, but a foot is definitely a possibility. I can’t remember more than 12-15” here besides in 82.

You can lock in the 12 GFS ….. downtown gets a foot and 35 miles southeast down here we get no snow and an inch plus if freezing rain …… this has played out many times before….. we usually get sleet instead of the freezing rain though lol
