FINALLY, after heavy sleet early this morning, and 3.5 hours of moderate but super-tiny "stuff", it is now changing over to real snow. Some of the flakes are big. After looking out the window 52,000 times while waiting for this, I am trying not to get excited yet. Update: The snow lasted about as long as it took to post about it. Nothing going on now.

This is a helluva storm, despite fairly moderate snowfall rates so far. Very cool to watch the snow field step it's way SE with each wave that ripples through. This is the epitome of an overrunning storm.

Everything still on track? Was up until almost 7am. I missed what happened between 7-noon.
I haven't went out and measured. But not sure I'll get those higher amounts models were spitting out. Looks beautiful though.

4 inches here in Lake St. Louis. Light snow still falling. Looks like metro south will love round two. A little bit for everyone That’s pretty close to my measurement in O’Fallon/Dardenne

Those are some crazy totals....bring it. 4-6" then 8-10" then 4-6". Am I reading that model right or is some of that what has already fallen? Even the low end is amazing.

Finally. Snowballs falling. This may be the biggest flakes I’ve ever seen. The dendrites are very nice when the deeper lift develops. Nickels and quarters. I had been out plowing earlier and just before I finished it started puking rodents.

Models have done an excellent job so far for MBY...they were consistent with 3-5" with this first wave and that's going to verify nicely.
Note that they tapered off quickly with amounts SE of 44/70 due to mixing. The bulk of the snowfall across the SE half of the CWA was always forecast to come tonight into tomorrow. Patience is a virtue!
