The radar returns don’t look like it but it’s snow is coming down pretty good here. Any explanation?

So... made a post about the bad roads... mentioned that interstate was driveable... but anything off the interstate was getting to be impassable to non 4wD. Does that sound like a call for people to go driving? How is that turning into a thing? I'm getting called out by some because they think I'm telling people its ok to drive! Is that what it sounds like? How could they read something into my post that was the complete opposite of what I was intending? Am I losing it? Some people are just dumber than dirt. |

Can’t measure on my normal surfaces because of drifting, so I measure three times on flat, yet fairly wind protected areas and got six inches.

Right at 6 here with the snow... with the 1.2 of stuff yesterday at 7.2"

I just went out with the wife to check the chickens. Anyone know why in the world they poop in their water? After getting back I went around to my previous measuring sites. As I passed the boat I could see around 2" on the edge from when I cleaned it before. The boat is between the house and the outbuilding so not real accurate there. Previous spots were now a general 6" of snow and 7.5" thru 'the crust' to the grass. The driveway furthest from the house is 7" of all snow. I shoveled last evening to mostly bare concrete. THis measurement is also suspect because of the proximity of the boat. The grass in the front yard was 7" and 8.5" past 'the crust' to actual grass. Again, really not sure about this area either because of the wind direction coming off the roof toward the front yard. I'm sure the backyard lost snow to the wind also. This is pure guesswork. 6.5" snow from 2nd wave and 8" total adding 'the crust'. I will wait for either confirmation from surrounding MTW members or maybe a posting on the news from De Soto proper. And keep bringing the green radar returns. Moderate snow and blowing snow, small flakes again, vis 3/8-1/2 mile, temp 19* 7 miles west of De Soto. Really seems to be some drying/weakening sneaking in at central MO/AR border. We got one of those heated water things last year and it’s so nice in the winter. That is if you can get them to come out of the coop. Mine just peak out the door and turn back around when it snows lol |

I still haven't measured in Fredericktown and the blowing and drifting will make it hard to get a good total. Still pouring snow at the moment. I waited until now to put the blade on the tractor for fear of jinxing the snow. Sure wish I would have gotten a cab tractor lol

Measured at 11.5 in O’Fallon/Dardenne in a few accountable spots. Maybe another half inch left if lucky will put us right at a foot.

5" for the day so far and have exceeded 10" total in Brighton. Picked up a half inch the past couple hours...still snowing
Wind is picking up now...1mb surface pressure drop in the past hour. Near blizzard conditions for sure...on par with 2014 but more snow with this one in MBY.

If not, try placing it on some bricks or concrete block 4-6 inches above the floor. That should help, but chickens are just filthy animals. Delicious, but filthy. Also, I'm really glad to see y'all got a decent storm not only to track, but to watch come to fruition. Have fun in your snow! |

Well... this storm almost... ALMOST... makes up for the crappy non winter weather we had up to this point. Hopefully, we can get one more nice cold weather storm to track before the season is over.
