Bottomed out at 2.4 degrees. Can anyone give me a thought on when the next measurable snow might fall? Just bought my sister a snow blower. I know.......I probably jinxed any possible accumulation for the rest of the winter. Way to go Reb!!!! Gah! Good on ya for giving the gift of snow fun!

I know.......I probably jinxed any possible accumulation for the rest of the winter. Earliest meaningful snow would potentially be in the Friday-Sunday range with one of a series of clippers hitting the area. If the clipper train misses north (which it probably will), you are waiting until at least the 16th and it’s pretty much impossible to predict beyond that. No big storms showing up in the next 7-10 days at this moment.

There’s a decent signal on the GEFS and EPS for a storm system around the 17th-19th
Both are showing a big uptick in mean QPF around that time to almost an inch

It's 11 in North St. Pete according to the Davis on the roof. Coldest I have seen was 9. Chilly. We must have had a warm eddy on this river bluff. I was reading 14 this morning when the airport was at 5. I thought it was a bird sitting on the sensor or something.

I had a snow blower for 20+ years before we moved to a subdivision where snow removal is covered by the HOA. Wouldn't use it some winters. But I was sure glad to have it many, many years. Beats blowing out your back on aa wet snowfall.

Wave #2 dropped. 0.47" --- 4.9" at the airport So 10-1 ratios. Does anyone believe that?? Wow no I don't believe that now that you mention it! Ratios had to be in the 12-13 to 1 range for Wave 2. Wave 1 had ratios in the 10 to 1 range. I had 10.5" with both waves in Northern Wildwood! 2.75 wave 1 6.75 wave 2 at noon, another 0.5 by next am Total 9.75, same location

It’s looking tough, but overnight lows appear to remain below freezing so that will help.

I had like 8 inches up here with below freezing temps for a week and the sun was still melting/subliming it away. Need constant clouds or a much bigger snowpack. Also, being on the wrong side of these clippers will likely pump temps into the 50s occasionally.

I’d imagine by this time next week all but some shaded areas are gone.

Only thing going for us down this way is much less ambient heat floating around from buildings, concrete, cars, etc. Clipper surges are legit though.

Would be nice to get a few more hits in before we get into March.

I think tonorrow we may make a run. At 50 I know it is tough with the snow, but it is currently 57 in Omaha, while we are 27.t Tomorrow will be very favorable west to sw winds. Now come mud season lol.
That does not happen very often!!!

I measured very well. 10.5" is what I had. We aren't the same exact location. Also, I'm on the top of a big hill. A fun long storm!

Happy Weatherperson's Day Chris, Congrats on 29 years also. Man, that makes me feel old. What a year to hire on to, Flood of '93. I remember climbing the floodgate at Choteau and the river one day when I got to work early. What an eerie feeling peering over that wall and seeing all the water. This morning's low said 2*. I had already left the house and it was still 5* at 7am. Funny thing was driving up Hwy110 just past the western cutoff to Plattin Rd. the car thermo said -1, then dropped to -2 just before we started climbing the big hill. Going down the other side it raised up to 1*, then was at 4* when we hit southbound 67 entrance.
Edit: My forecast of -4 or-5 did not pan out here, 7 miles west of De Soto.

Happy Weatherman Day Chris! You truly are one of the best around. So glad to have you here in STL. Saint Louis weather is by far one of the most challenging areas to forecast for. So many things that go wrong. We appreciate so much that you have given us and do. From this blog to our safety during bad weather and dealing with the everyday nonsense folks give u. And of course your active service!
Thank you
