Kicked over to a light snow/sleet mix in SPI. Sleet/snow/ice accumulation nearing an inch or so. This system is going to need to slow down for any respectable accumulations.

KC radar looks solid...we may catch a lull in the accumulating stuff here shortly but it's going to build back in towards mid-afternoon as the mid-level front sweeps through. I'm thinking 3" will be a common number for I-70 and especially points N. You're in a great spot.

Looks like my sleet will exit this area shortly. Do not see any backbuilding at the moment. Even this short burst right around noon looks to make walking here difficult. I do not know about Hwy H or any other roads. Still sitting at 33* which surprises me because of the layer of sleet. Maybe it will all turn to liquid from insolation before the temp crash cometh later on.

Hoping the stuff in southeast Kansas holds as that is what's actually going to be coming over us (the metro area specifically).

By the look of things it looks like the precipitation changing area is approaching over I-255 as we speak. It's close but not here yet.

Just waking up looking at radar and wondering why the back edge is already here!?!? Didnt think it was suppose to be over until later...
And I'm not seeing no minimum of 3 inches. I'm reading dry slot on some posts. So guess I ended under that. Wth!

Not sure if these lines feed into my power but this has always been a worry upon our move in 3 years ago. What exactly is the worry? Power pole is listing a bit there at about 3 to 5 degrees. I've seen worse almost 10-15* listing in and around a few poles on North Belt West in Belleville. Your pole isn't too bad. Not an electrician or anything just from what I've seen around that's still kicking even after years of listing.

Just turned over to all sleet here in Terre Du Lac (5 miles west of Bonne Terre). Daughter’s job (@ 70 & 270 ) sent all the employees home early.

This be a nice storm here HRRR has been showing a band of heavier snow rolling into the metro between 3-5pm this afternoon. Hi Res models have been hinting at a squall ahead of the deformation zone as it enters. Could be some insane rates in that. Too bad it will only last like 5 to 10 mins tops in any one spot. It would drop a fast half inch or so where ever it passes with another half inch to an inch for the rest of it. Bringing the 1" with spots of up to 2" through the immediate metro. Likely to be gone soon later though. Next week still looks solid for us especially Thursday afternoon into sunrise Friday.

How pretty, I have half rings of 'white mulch' around all the trees in my yard. Still sleeting and still 33* 7 miles west of De Soto.
