Squeezed out 9.5 Really thought we were toast this season. Big numbers put up this time around What elevation are you at? I noticed on the 850mb charts that temps were mostly above 0* across the snow producing region so I'm guessing most of the snow was above 5kft? 6500. But we had snow in Pueblo which is under 4500. I think heavy precip rates and evap cooling played a pretty big role in this case.

Not often do you see a 1030mb ridge dropping south through the plains in late May...glorious!

Worth keeping an eye on Wednesday as a trough takes on a bit of a negative tilt to our west. Usual caveats about morning convection and convective debris apply.

Yeah, that's a pretty potent mid-level low ejection. If there's enough clearing early in the day...look out!

This thing broke? Blues even have a chance to pull this game out and crickets. Blues have lost focus. Our breakouts were non-existent last night, we turned the puck over too many times in the defensive zone, and we took at least one too many chances (Perunovich on Kadri's second goal) this time of year. Our special teams are OK. This group of defensemen aren't going to cut it, and Husso still doesn't look comfortable. There's no reason not to have his stick on the ice for their first goal, and he's cheating away from the short side. It might be time to give Chucky Sideburns a start...on the road...in an elimination game. At this point, I'm not sure we sign Husso anyway.

The minute Binnington went down, you could feel the energy get sucked right out of Enterprise and the team alike. Me too sitting on my couch. To hell with Kadri. Even without that, we have not been able to sustain any sort of forecheck, which has been our game now for years. Avs have shut that down. I agree with you too, this defense will not win a cup. Might be time to bite the bullet and trade a young stud for a high end defenseman. Kyrou comes to mind. I love his skill set, but he rarely has the puck for more than a second or two before he either takes a shot or it flies off his stick while he's pretending to be Pavel Datsyuk.

I also think there are some undisclosed injuries. We just aren't playing a very physical game. Part of that is they're hard to catch. But it also looks like we're passing up opportunities along the boards.
So help me, if another Kroenke-owned team wins, I might come unglued.
As far as Kadri goes, the more I watch it, the less I'm inclined to say it was purely intentional...but it was definitely reckless. There's no doubt he should have been going after that puck with all kinds of energy this time of year, but you've got to be able to control yourself around the crease.

NAM seems to be upping the severe storm threat tomorrow...it's suggesting some shortwave ridging/subsidence working in mid-morning behind a lead shortwave which could encourage clearing and destabilization before the main forcing develops later in the afternoon and evening. It's a pretty impressive looking triple point setup if enough instability is realized. 0-1km shear is strong with 30kts+ bulk and 150-250m2/s2 SRH so there appears to be a tornado threat with enough SBCAPE.

Bulk shear looks to be on the lower side tomorrow afternoon (20-30kts from what I'm seeing), but the LLJ is ripping at 50kts+ which could lead to some bowing storms. Certainly a spin up tornado threat with that high SRH.

The backed meridional mid-level flow makes me think bowing is going to be the preferred mode too but any supercells in that environment definitely have good potential to spin up.

So we live in an apartment complex that has a little lake. Was out walking the dog when I encountered this older woman walking, looking for a number that does not exist in our complex. I got the pup back to the apartment, and hobbled back to the woman as fast as I could. Figured out she lives in the senior living complex next to the apartment complex and got her back home. Please, if any of your family members live alone that could have a possible touch of dementia, find out some way to put your phone number on something they can't leave home without. She was new to the area and didn't recognize her building from the side. She had keys and a door card, but nothing but the room number on them. She also couldn't tell me how she got to the walking path. I'm glad it had a happy ending.

Looks like clouds and lingering showers are going to limit destabilization today. SPCs marginal outlooks seems reasonable without any appreciable heating occuring. Still a chance that storms could become pretty strong later today though. I still wouldn't rule out a weak tornado or two.
