You can tell the humidity will be a bit less with those overnight lows. That will help some.

We received less than a tenth and the ground is still hard and dry...very disappointing. Limbs down all over and plants in the garden took the wind pretty hard. The outflow wind here was easily 60mph+. I really need to move the anemometer location since it's blocked by trees on the NW side now.

Can't ever recall getting slapped that hard by outflow and then not getting any rain for over an hour.

Yeah, the cold pool stratoform was pretty meager due to the LLJ axis being almost parallel with the outflow. But the storms blew up just miles to my east along it. Been getting skirted in all directions and this one was no different. We've only had around a half inch of rain in the past month or more.

Looks like my bone dry June is all but assured for most areas, obviously some local areas are fairing a bit better. Sadly looking forward, July doesn't look much better. Seems to be more of the same, hot, dry, humid, and miserable. Maybe by the second half of the month we'll see the mean ridge shift back to the west more consistently, which would open the northwest flow and perhaps the MCS train, but not for a few more weeks. In the meantime it looks like we may still get our 600DM ridge overhead or just to our south in the next week, and the Euro would make my June forecast an A+ rating with that 106, as I stated we'd see 105+ at least a couple times or heat indexes between 110-120. Don't think we've officially had 120+ HI recorded, but 115 has been seen a couple times, so it's in the range. Seems like this summer is playing out similar to 2006 but with a more boring May or at least less numerous storms then back then. That could bear some interesting fruits come Fall and Winter.

In the short term, Sunday AM looks crisp especially east of the Mississippi River, might actually need a hoodie in the morning with mid to upper 50s expected. Doesn't last long though, because Monday here comes the Heat!

I slept through the storms. I did too. It's funny, I woke up and checked my phone thinking the MCS that was expected to develop never did.

I was woken by the initial outflow surge and then a lightning strike that sounded like it was less than 100yds away. And then the realization that there was no beneficial rain coming put me in a bad mood and back to sleep, lol

.13” here. The only thing that woke us up was “weather call” and “code red”. Nothing really happened here. Biggest gust was 29mph

Cashed in on the rain here. Had to be about 2 inches. Poured for a solid 30 mins. It was windy but no damage.

Had .33 at our place and slept through the storm after staying late to get AM show prep'd and heading home. Fell asleep and that was that.

GFS shows 597-600DM ridge nearly assured on Monday into Tuesday, then it's watch the tropics in time for the Independence Day Holiday. hints something might slip into the Gulf and depending on ridge placement then, could be a sign of a pattern change and some tropical remnants. 18Z GFS does show 597DM coming back right at the end of the run though, so yeah...

This is a classic example of why we head north in Sept this year to escape the heat of MO and MI and pray by then it won’t be a sauna anymore!

GFS still bullish with the storm chances for the later half of next week with several complexes traversing the region. EURO says "meh". Ensemble means drop the 588dm line pretty close between Wed/Thurs so the firing zone should be pretty close. Hopefully we can cash in on some soaking rains...the farmers around here are in trouble if we don't get any rain soon.

.57 in from that, and grateful for it. Mulch guy coming today. Helps shrubs and trees hold water. Time to ‘mow high’. Try to keep everything from croaking for the duration.

GFS has a lot of mid level noise mid week and into the weekend. Beating down the ridge... has temps struggling to reach 90 mid/late week. Hopefully it's onto something. Still keeps us rather dry... but with all that noise would think it is under guessing the chances for precip.
