Welcome to mud season! We've got ourselves a 'mud warning' for the entire 7 day period possibly longer...

Welcome to mud season! We've got ourselves a 'mud warning' for the entire 7 day period possibly longer... I agree with you there, and the operational models agree...but beyond 7 days things can be radically different. A pretty active January shaping up per the models, and also we are lacking cold air. But of course, that can change, so I'm taking it with a block of salt.

cfs, if you have an ounce of faith in it (I don't) says it gets snowy again mid month, and by end of january, we repeat what we saw just before Christmas temperature wise. I don't know why I'm even posting this. We all know the CFS is worthless, but just thought I'd put it out there as a teaser. Maybe there is something to that urinal blocking. LOL Just trying to keep this forum alive.

We have a decent shot at tying or breaking tomorrow's record high. Favorable wind direction, potential for some clearing behind the warm front. Temps could really take off!

Not seeing anything extreme...but a return to a more wintry pattern is likely by then.

Lots of sweaty roads out there this morning. Make sure that washer fluid reservoir is full.
And check your blinker fluid while you're at it.

I remember when we set the record for December 29 in 1984. It stayed warm enough that night I was able to go to bed with the windows open. I thought that was so cool for late December.

My brother’s uncle’s daughter’s cousin, twice removed, works on cars in his front yard. He said because of the wild temperature swings, it’s good to take exhaust samples to the local auto parts store to get them evaluated. Potentially, the exhaust could contain harmful contaminants.

For those interested in long shot snow chances, don’t sleep on Wednesday/Thursday next week.
Multiple individual ensembles across multiple models and runs have shown secondary development and a low exploding north bringing the region snow.
The 12z ggem is now starting to show this idea.

We slept with a bedroom window wide open last night. Fantastic! Both of us grew up in drafty old farm houses and like a bedroom window open at night. Unless it's like last week was for a couple of days. Too cold, even for us. I figured out what was wrong with the Davis on the roof in North St. Pete. It was incorrectly reporting rainfall. The small cup that measures and auto dumps the rain was stuck. It is working now.

We’re going to need to keep a close eye on Monday SPC already has the southern CWA in a 15% risk area. It wouldn’t surprise me if they expand that further north.

Possible, although given the ridging ahead of the system and that the shortwave is predicted to go negative tilt well west of here that would be surprising.
The real severe threat is going to be across the deep south. Much more conditional up here.
