Snowmelt causing significant flooding on the Mississippi from the Twin Cities to the Quad Cities. I hope it levels out before it gets to us. Don't know what is happening on the Missouri. I know the capacity goes up significantly after the confluence.

Got a question before tomorrow night. I was one of the suckers that plants after tax day but before mother's day. I have 3 pepper plants and 2 tomato plants. What is the best thing to use to cover them up? Thanks in advance, just need to get something on before bed tomorrow night.

Can you make some sort of dome for them using newspaper? Be sure to use several pages of thickness to provide airgap for insulation.

Cloud cover should keep temps from going to damaging levels tonight in my opinion. Im just gonna water at 10 p.m. and call it good.

After spending a small fortune to replace some panels in my wood burning fireplace (the others had cracked), I used my fireplace once this year. I have already cleaned that out. As much as I like fire, the only fires I enjoy in April are outside at this point, but it's pretty breezy. So even my outdoor solo firepit sits idle. I did disconnect my hoses though.

Though I have to admit that my red wine that I'm drinking tastes a little chilled this evening. I guess it's a little chilly even in my house, but I'm going to resist turning on my heat.

Gave in last night. Inside temp under 67 gets me too many complaints, especially when it may not rebound much during the day.

My daughter spends all night in front of her computer and her room has multiple computers and technology in it. She's a bit of an artistic nerd. Her room is toasty even in the midst of our winters. I'm fortunate in that aspect. I can throw extra covers on me. Now, the summers are a bit challenging because we have to overcome all that generated heat, and her room is farthest from the a/c in terms of where the registers are located, but she gets so wrapped up in her gaming, that she doesn't complain too much. It just seems like it's 10 degrees warmer in that room with multiple computers running.

Looks like our first big spring storm is on the way to Colorado this week have to try to explain a potential 5-10 mile gradient between 2 inches of rain and a foot and a half of snow on the west side of town. Wish me luck.

It's been awhile since it's been viewed this far south. Sometime in the mid to late 90s there was a pretty good one in this area.

Looks like everyone beat me to this, but if clouds clear tonight and you have some decent cameras and or away from the city we have a chance of auroras tonight! G4:Severe Storm Event in progress thanks to full Halo CME passage through Earth. Only G5 is stronger.

With my iPhone on night mode I was able to capture the northern lights as a red transitioning to green from Perryville. That may be the only way to see them but you sure can!

33* at 1:45am and no visuals of Northern lights. The sky looks 'lit' to the north of me like light pollution. I guess I'm seeing Hillsboro's lights.
