Took the wife, 1 daughter, 3 granddaughters, a grandson, 1 dog, and the boat to Clearwater Lake today. The lake finally got down to 'Normal Pool' at 498' just last week. You sure could tell the dewpoints were low after getting out of the water today, then really noticing it cruising around while still wet. A grand time was had by all. Was quite surprised by the afternoon/evening showers down there. Was also expecting a little more sunshine per the forecast. A day trip down there makes for a long and wonderful day. Just got home 45 minutes ago.

I'm alive... just checking in. Have been laying low the past few weeks. Weather has been quiet and I needed to work on some other things.
Hope everyone has been playing nicely lol.
Happy summer.

It's pretty easy to 'play nice' when no one posts.

Things will pick up with the potential of a major hurricane entering the central or western Gulf of Mexico around Juneteenth into the Solstice, which ironically could be our best shot of any areawide soaking this month, granted towards the very end of the month.
On the bright side, no major heatwaves are in sight at this point, but that too can of course change!

A recurving TC through the region would be an absolute blessing. It looks to heat up into the week of the 19th with ridging building across the Central/E US...it'll be interesting to see if that holds up given the tendency for troffing across the E US. We may be seeing a large-scale pattern adjustment as the El Nino takes hold and strengthens. Gulf moisture looks to finally build into the region with consistent ridging across the seaboard.

This is one weird weather pattern for June Parts of WI/IA/IL may flirt with a frost Monday morning

Crazy. Last weekend did yard work with my cousin in East/Central WI, and it was 87 degrees. She's going to pitch a fit.

Slow moving/backbuilding heavy storms right over the severe drought area near COU...love to see it. Hope those can make eastward progress this evening before weakening...brick wall near the river currently. Most of us should see soaking rainfall tonight into tomorrow.

It's so nice to hear the rain hitting the windows and roof again. Even though it has woke me up a couple of times.

Glad we could send you guys some water. Has been wild here since the end of April. More consistent water than we've seen in several years. Pikes Peak and the Ramparts have been supercell printers nearly each and every afternoon. Mountain downpours are no joke! Cheers all

Yikes, looking at the radar estimates I am definitely in the "have nots" category according to yesterday afternoons Disco. Looks like some 2" winners out there so far. Good job NWS on the 'scatteredness' of the rainfall. Hopefully I can get some more throughout the day.

Around an inch in Brighton so far. The areas that are getting the most rainfall have been the driest lately, which is great to see.

Good Morning! Per a friend in Millwood, they got 2.7 inches. That's great for all the crops out this way! We are about 5 miles to them. My rain gage broke, but we are guessing close to that amount.

We had 2.2" here in Old Jamestown, MO (far North County). Would never have thought that but are both surprised and grateful. Now, how to get rid of the moles as this is the worst infestation we've ever seen in over 40 years here.
If anyone knows of a real pro that does moles and will come out here please let me know.

I am also interested in a solution.

Awesome, looks like we have added a decent amount to the rain tally. Radar estimates at 1" now. Yippee. Areas right arount the corner of me are showing the 2" color. This is 7 miles west of De Soto. Is the shower activity to our west=northwest associated with the cold front and possible T-storms or will the quicker passage of the system negate anything more for us?

Treat your yard with milky spore...that will kill the grubs and larvae that the moles feed on...and it lasts for years.
1.25" storm total in Brighton. The rain barrel is full and the plants and critters are happy!
