No clouds or rain this morning so nothing to stop storms from firing this afternoon and evening right? RIGHT!

WPC has the Excessive Rain 15% areas west of STL on Day 2 and SW of STL on Day 3. The 12z Euro just about screws most of the viewing area through noon on Friday. I hope it is wrong. Even GFS has backed way off with amounts for us. My pond has to be 24-30" low and no 'obvious' leaks. I need some decent, not flooding, rain. Reading their discussion, the slight is where they think more than 2 inches will fall. I didn't see (read) that part. Thanks

Just had my weekly test on my weather radio. Kinda weird for a possible storm day to do it. Guess because storms aren't suppose to be until after 8pm.

Composite outflow from this morning's storms up north has made it to Sedalia over towards Jeff City...looks like the cluster N of KC is going to slide SE and ride along that instability gradient. Should put it pretty close to the Metro or just SW

Be interesting to see how this unfolds...3km NAM keeps that cluster to the SW then blows up another one well W/SW overnight while the HRRR weakens it but has a lot of storms along the remnant boundary overnight

A couple days ago, models were favoring the Mississippi river for MCS development before shifting west. One thing is for sure, these hot days with boundaries floating around can make for some unexpected results. We'll just have to see how this plays out. I'm just hoping to see a gust of wind and some rain to test the new station out.

RER of the jet streak across central IA looks to be helping those cells across northern MO. Corfidi vectors show favorable motion to get into the area.

Cells up N of COU are looking awfully strong and on track to at least glance the Metro...like Coz said Corfidi vector and thickness contours support a SE slide into the area.
Not sure why the SPC wouldn't go with a watch with 2500j/kg CAPE and ~40kts shear

keep an eye on it though. Some of the returns seem capable of producing hail.

That makes sense given that outflow came through earlier but I wouldn't assume that it will prevent strong gusts making it to the surface along with hail growth. It does seem like more of a conditional threat though.

Pretty impressive how quick that happened.

I hope so. Got a whopping 0.08 in from that tiny thing that just went overhead. Enough to wet the ground. A few distant bolts of lightening, no thunder. However, the temp has dropped dramatically. An hour ago, it was 91 degrees, and now it's 79. I'll take it.
