Line of severe storms west of the city moving east southeast.
And a t-storm watch just issued.

Boundary evident on radar from Carrollton to Bowling Green is helping to fire off storms further north.

Will it hold as it crosses the river? Or will it split and miss bellevegas and ofallon and mascoutah? Stay tuned...

I definitely need to go out and check for limbs down, and other damage as soon as this is over. I can't see anything from my windows, other than a bunch of lawn furniture scattered throughout the yard, but the lightning needs to die down for me to confirm. Not a lot of rain, but the high winds were remarkable. Whole house shook with that initial gust from the west, before the wind turned back toward the east (watching my flag).

This is the weakest radar presentation of a severe storm that I've ever seen Was thinking the same thing...but the steep low-level lapse rates did favor microbursts.

I had 45-50mph winds with the leading edge. Lost a 2.5-3" healthy limb out of an oak tree but that looks to be all. Radar estimates have me at .50". Probably real close cause it rained pretty hard for a bit. Radar estimates show 1-2" amounts between me and Hwy 21. Figures. My neighbor at the old house in downtown De Soto has been out of power since the storms hit.

We swam in the pool during that time (after storm moved out). No damage here but not surprised if a few branches snapped somewhere nearby with the little gusty winds at the beginning. The rain was welcomed.
