Also wondering what the synoptic pattern was like in the year ago flash flood catastrophic event that took place a year ago in St. Charles County which dumped 12 inches of rain I think what is going on in Arizona is a sign that the overall pattern is much different. They had an incredibly active monsoon last year, but the high is about 250-300 miles SSW of where it was parked last year. I think the event last July was kind of a freak thing.

We got the worst of it here...zero rain yet the humidity is unbearable with a Td of 76*(85%) Fall cannot come quickly enough...I'm done with this lousy summer. I don't understand how it can be so humid and rain so little! you also have some microclimate factors in play too for the humidity, is there a bunch of corn fields nearby? I don't understand it either. I was actually teasing you a little bit the other day when I said there was a minima about a click NW of Brighton. As for the heavy rain, wondering if the smoke is providing some additional condensation nuclei for some of the heavy rains in the region. Also wondering what the synoptic pattern was like in the year ago flash flood catastrophic event that took place a year ago in St. Charles County which dumped 12 inches of rain. I may have to dig to last year's forum to see if anything was posted. I would have thought there'd be more development a bit further north based on my knowledge of where the nose of the llj was situated....my knowledge, or so I thought would have been more to the left of the the nose of low level jet? I realize my conceptual idea doesn't necessarily work out sometimes. I know there was some flash flooding around Columbia, MO, but I would have thought most of the metro, especially the west and southwestern part of the metro would have been measuring rainfall in inches. I think western KY was a given...I can see why they got such a significant flooding event. All I know is that I know nothing. -- Socrates

That map should change drastically by the next release. Another over performing event is underway this morning.

Absolutely unbelievable.
There better be more development upstream along that outflow or I may just blow a gasket today...

Excavator got swept into the creek about 200 yards from this bridge, where they were setting another one. No photo of that yet.

I feel for you all in troy and folks in brighton. We had 1.77 in st.peters today at my house, and I am at 6.54 for the month, and most of the area near and south of 70 have cashed in since the 1st of July. Based on the map the last 7 days shows that well.
I do hope that our northern folks can get some rain. Its almost like someone mentioned a while back the arch effect is reversed and while we have had a ton of rain in st.charles county, we have not had what downtown has been getting. It has been a wierd Year all around and unusual.

Looks like the heat is building in the medium range. Will it hold or will the models back down once again?
