Seems to be a boundary visible on radar draped NW to SE across the Metro with a few tiny showers bubbling along it...maybe that'll get a few storms going once the LLJ picks up

Bastardi used to say there was a correlation between a -AAO during the S hemisphere winter and a -AO the following N hemisphere winter. If that's the case...batten down the hatches We are overdue for even a normal temperature winter, and even more overdue for a normal snowfall winter, IMO. But I'm pessimistic still for this winter. I can't wait for the social media posts to come out, stating we are going to have a historical winter...again.

In other great news, ocean water temp off the Florida Keys was recorded at 101°F today
Granted this is in shallow, muddy, debris filled water. Still not great.

Hopefully, looking at Upstream radar, the complex of showers/storms heading Southeast, I am hoping like the last two or three weeks this is going to blow through tonight and hopefully knock down the ridge that it won't be so hot Wednesday and Thursday.🙏🙏🤞🤞👍👍

I sure hope those showers and storms to the NW hold together into this evening after the sun sets. We need a good soaker desperately...

I think Friday is the best candidate for the warmest day of the year. NBM is showing 104 F. We've seen a high bias in the NBM already this year likely due to the GFS contribution and it showing dewpoints mixing out too much. I do think 100+ is still a good bet though. 99 will be pissed if we don't hit 100 at least once this year.

Looks like we'll be lucky to get more than a quick shower this evening...that loose cluster has really weakened with the setting sun and warm mid-level temps.

Some thunder. No rain. Pavement still dry. Thought we'd have a good pouring. It didn't happen. I live about halfway NNW, between the radar site, and I70. It seems according to the nws radar, I have very little hope of getting rainfall, as the echos seem to be drying up as they approach my area. Even more remarkable is those folks on the east side of the metro, look to remain mostly high and dry.

What is the NWS 'seeing' for their outlooks for August and the Seasonal Outlook for Aug-Oct. to be just below normal temp wise a tick north of us and above normal precip over us? Maybe tropical influences? The way the outline looks that doesn't seem like the cause. Almost looks like a Polar Vortex type plunge out of Canada. All Hail the NW flow. Drought Info PDF

Strong downbursts look likely with those storms with 30-35kts bulk shear, 3500-4000j/kg CAPE and very steep low-level lapse rates.
Could see another round this evening or later tonight as well as another disturbance drops SE across the region.
