Warned storm near Sedalia and a watch covering much of western Missouri. Is the thinking still that they will get eaten by the dryer air over us?

Yeah, we will stay dry, probably all weekend. 80s thru next week. Good times.

I wonder what the record is for most 80 plus degree days in a calender year. Im ready for 65 to 70 degree days in october, hope after september we can get out of this pattern. Also we need rain. Even that storm the other day just helped the surface, and yesterdays near 90 cracked the ground again

I received no measurable rain the last 5 days. I know there were some good soakings around the area. The dust being stirred up mowing, 4 wheeling, driving down the driveway is incredilble. I wonder if the forecasts of 85* the next several days will 'overperform'?

Thanks Snowman! Does this still mean a mild winter? Mosue, there was a post a page or two back giving an idea of 'an outcome' for this winter's El Nino but another member said it wasn't a very good indicator, I'm paraphrasing. There are so many 'things', weather-wise, that also occur that pretty much 'dictate' our weather here. I don't think any single teleconnection can be 'leaned on' with any certainty.

Not much good to say about temps this week for fall lovers, but at least this pattern didn't set up in July.

We are up here in west Mich on vaca. There’s a few here who are thrilled with El Niño giving them a mild winter for a change. There’s chilly mornings, warm ups, and then the evenings cool down! Really hoping no MO heat on vaca! I hear we are going to have a warm Oct in MO!

I had some major weather anomaly happen at my house today!😅
This extremely moist substance fell from the sky for a short period of time it almost looked like the stuff we used to get... I think they called it rain 🌧️
Then I actually heard some loud noise up in the sky not sure what it was, but I've heard stories about this stuff called thunder! It reminds me of those stories...
