The thermo profile looks very borderline Sunday AM and favors N MO/W Central IL for accumulations. I would still expect to see some snow flying in the Metro, but accumulations are questionable. The N counties could get the grass coated maybe.

If I see a flake of snow id be surprised Pretty classic cold rain setup with that ~2kft warm layer above the surface on soundings. Awesome watching this go from a full blown snowstorm in KS to hoping for a flake or two mixing in here in Snow Hole, USA.

News article was published a few days ago how how more then 30% decrease of precipitation that is snow over the past 50 years. More like 50% by the looks of things. Probably 30% alone in the 20 years I've lived here. We could see snow disappear almost entirely from here and points south save for once in a blue moon event like every 2-5 years or longer.

“Heavy” rain drops in Shrewsbury. Could be mixed with something but it’s not. All raindrops.

I really hope this winter can take the swing that the cardinals couldn’t this year . Tons of snowballs will be needed to fill that hole for sure .

Looks like models are backing off the mild pattern that was being touted for early December with the NAO/AO turning pretty strongly negative. It still looks there will be a moderation later next week, but models bring the front through over the weekend now which brings the cool air back in along with rain chances.

I guess with the drought even December rain is a good thing

To at least see some flakes fly last night/early this morning would have been nice but just wasn't meant to be. I consider any snow before December 15th as a bonus truthfully.

There is a slim chance of accumulating snow on Friday.
Several ensembles show something interesting, but will require everything to lineup perfectly.

Storm system for Thursday Night into Friday is the perfect Memphis Low track which would of been golden for snow across the I-70 corridor and points south... To bad no cold air is present, so it's all rain.

The Sonny Gray signing is a good sign. Can’t be mad about signing the AL CY Young runner up.
I still think the cards should try to swing a deal for Glasnow or Cease but I doubt that happens now.

Sonny Gray is the most Cardinals signing possible.
Older, good but not amazing, low years commitment. He is a great #2.
It’s just kind of a mediocre rotation without any other moves. I would have preferred more ceiling/volatility by swapping Lynn for Kenta Maeda if we are lacking in money.
We are a Glasnow/Bieber/Cease away from being really relevant.
As it stands, if they just tinker with the bullpen, this is a true talent 85-88 win team which is boring.
