Overall, I think it is a bit early to start taking snow.
That said as I was browsing headlines, I am starting to wonder if there is a correlation to our sensible weather and volcanic eruptions in Iceland…I wish I had time to research that topic.
Lastly, bad news from the UP as famed meteorologist John Dee has passed.

12z euro looks a lot like the 12z ggem.
Big push of arctic air next weekend. We will just have to wait and see if the wave out in front of it gets sheared out or if it can spin up along it.

flip to La Nina? I have heard absolutely 0 about that - is that YOUR forecast? If so, what data are you using, and what are you seeing to say that? If not cite sources.

Lets just see how things play out this year and just enjoy the season whatever it brings.
Im sure we will all see at least some flurries at some point between now and April.

Both the GEFS and EPS are pretty dang cold next weekend
Some sings of a system trying to spin up on the leading edge of the cold as well

If memory serves, it's been awhile, but is this the same individual that once said a relative's irritable bowel (or some ailment) was factored into their forecasts? Not beaker, the one beaker is referencing.

the way it's going, lol. It's nov 18 Yes...in the midst of a long-term drought. If you hadn't noticed, there's been a remarkable lack of organized storms and precip for months on end.

had a pretty decent system just before Halloween I think, didn't we. Yeah there's a drought, you've been complaining about it all summer. But saying flurries might be a stretch for the winter in mid Nov is a bit premature. Years ago you would have said the same thing to anyone who said that lol.

Couple models trying to bring a disturbance back into the long range(Weekend after Thanksgiving) again. Has vibes of Last November's Surprise snowfall event. Not saying that's how it will play out, but decent energy and borderline temps could give someone on the southeastern half of the area a surprise on Saturday night/Sunday Morning next weekend.

Back online!
I’ve been forced to double up on Cardinals blogging (welcome back Lance Lynn).
Unfortunately, not much to say about the weather. I think we get flakes over the weekend, but no accumulation.
