For storm #2 the 12 GEFS is north of the GFS with the track of the 850 mb low. There is only just barely a cohesive low though which is an indication that there is a large spread in the members. The positive snow depth change isn't a dud, but it isn't winter storm criteria either.

Looking forward to our 2.5" of cold rain down in the tropical SE section of the viewing area. Normally I'd complain, but we needed any and all moisture. Rain or snow, bring on the moisture!

Been awhile since I have posted anything, life has gotten in the way for the last couple months but I started lurking again last week. Now for my question, what effect does the continuing drought have on winter weather events? Same as rain in summer? Is this being factored into the forecast? Thanks.

Euro looks to at least be trending colder from the 0z to 12z runs.
Which is nice.

Lots of MPings for Rain and even regular snow and sleet down southeast of us as the moisture streams in. Might get a brief wintry spell before it goes all over to rain as the warmer air gets drawn in. Not Thrilled about Friday swinging north. Still like to think that it will correct itself back south a bit, but models are consistent with both today and Friday's systems being pretty much carbon copies of each other.

The EPS looks pretty good for the Friday system Mean 988mb surface low sitting close to our wheelhouse The GEFS isn’t to dissimilar, but not as juiced with the low and shows more love to the southern counties

Yeah, the EPS isn't bad. The 850 mb and sfc low tracks are on the northern edge of the strike zone. And while snowfall is not warning criteria it isn't a dud. I don't know if I'm willing to say that accumulating snow is likely yet, but the chances are getting better.

Waterloo and Triad High School have moved the Friday basketball game to Thursday because of weather. Too soon? I can't imagine why moving Friday activities to Thursday would be a bad decision. Even if it doesn't snow on Friday the game still gets played.

Just looking at snow cover over the midwest and it still shows us having snow on the ground from our little over-achiever couple days ago? Anyway, it looks like todays storm track is very closely following this snow cover track. Now, if this system lays down snow even close to what the models are showing, Fridays system HAS to be at least south of this storm's track, right? Asking for someone down where no one lives.

Checking MoDOT cameras there's snow in the grass on the I-70 cameras west of Booneville, but not in Kansas City. And their map is showing all highways in west central Missouri outside of KC as covered.
