Well crap, I'm going to need at least a half inch of rain just to replenish what these stupid winds have evaporated in the last 24 hours.🤪🤪

Still dry 7 miles of West of DeSoto. I swear the edge of the rain can't be more than 8 miles west of DeSoto. Even our rain storms are starting to behave like our snow storms around here.🤔🤔🤪🤪

Really nice soaker setting in this evening...was a bit concerned with models showing the heavier QPF to the NW and the leading edge being so stubborn earlier. This is good timing for the morels with warm temps later this week.

Yep...was joking earlier but it has arrived and is really pouring in Waterloo...sounds so good to hear, hoping we hit Chris's predictions.

That was the nicest rain fall we’ve had here in a LONG time. Not sure how much we got yet but I will take it.

My brand new AcuRite iris reported 1.83” total @ 141 hwy & 44hwy. Seems a little generous to me might need to adjust the sensor.

May need to keep an eye on the time period around April 1st. Newer deterministic models runs and ensembles are indicating a better chance of being in the warm sector of an approaching trough with sufficient instability and shear for organized convection. If that holds some strong/severe storms may be on the table.

Would this be a good time to ask what weather station you guys all recommend? Something for a weather rookie like myself..... Davis vantage vue I returned home this afternoon and much to my surprise the total is actually 1.20” lol. Apparently math isn’t my strong suit before my morning coffee. That seems much more accurate to me. So far I’m happy with my AcuRite, however it’s only been up and running for 36hrs or so. I will say that after years of military forecasting it leaves much detail to be desired! None the less, still fun to have and get my my kids interested in the weather

The ambient model 5000 looks slick, if I find that I want an upgrade this brand has my eye on it! Thanks for sharing

My brand new AcuRite iris reported 1.83” total @ 141 hwy & 44hwy. Seems a little generous to me might need to adjust the sensor. My Ecowitt Piezometer measured 1.47" in High Ridge. Ground truth from the ponding on Hillsboro and Meramec Station as well as water in the Williams Creek losing tributaries along Hillsboro Road would support your reading.

I think my initial fuzzy eyed calculation of 1.8” was over cooked. Either way, much needed rain! Ready for spring weather to kick off and hopefully participate a little more with y’all (if my family time allows it)
