Thats what I am thinking, anything that develops will have to make its own cold air, as the entire country is nearly at or above freezing

Boy even looking at the perryville webcam there is snow there, but maybe half inch to an inch of windblown snow, the dry air monster was huge with this storm.

Im still watching the tail end of the storm saturday night for possibly a little wet snow as well. Most likely would be a mood snow, but definately the freezing drizzle is a concern at onset.

We are always walking the line in the metro. We have got to be the most difficult area in the country to forecast meteorologists in St.Louis should make that of a Neuro Surgeon, because thats what its like to forecast in st.louis

Well we have all seen snow, we had that .1 inch at the airport this last weekend, and now the south is getting some. We now have all seen at least 1 flake hopefully after today lol and then on the some freezing drizzle risk yuck.

Side note there is a pretty darn strong signal for freezing drizzle/rain saturday morning on latest nam. That will definately cause some issues. Good call chris on pointing that out

Honestly im starting to feel most will get at least a dusting and that is because I feel at least at the surface the air is not as dry as models think. I mean it is 21 at my house with dp of 9 for 56 percent humidity, lambert is 24 with do of 8 with 50 percent, the dew point depression of 10 to 15 is not as bad as what I remember models showing thus morning with temps of 23 and dp aof 0 to 3 or a 20 to 25 dp depression.
Just my thoughts is all this is in my opinion. Please someone tell me I am either wrong or maybe on to something.

I have never seen so much snow forecasted in my life, Im truly scared for the st.louis area tonight lol. This is absolutely historic we may see 18 to 24 flakes near 70, and out where snow man lives Im calling for 24 to 36 flakes with locally higher flakage possible.

Real question is how to the things out west look, do they seem to be developing where modeled out in the rockies, in addition is the great lakes low where it was modeled or isnit miving a bit north and faster or south and slower than modeled. To me i felt like the cold front came through maybe an hour faster and with a vengence this morning.
But ill leave it the the big guys to look into that. Just curious if things are where we thought as small differences aee huge here locally

Im just about done caring bout winter. Lets see if we cash in in February otherwise lets work on at least breaking a record of least amount of snow lol. Almost feel our best winters in st.Louis are neautral years not la nina as they seem to get us dry cold air when it does get cold, and el nino usually is warm and wet, neutral years seem to give us a good combo overall

Agreed, i just dont want to change my thinking, as all honesty if we get 1 inch or nothing it does not matter too much since this is such a minor event for everybody at best
