I wasn’t very clear: Models look to keep snow going for a while. I’m trying to understand what will happen. If he’s saying 7-9” by 7am. Thinking there will be a larger range on the ground by 7am. Yeah. I would think by 7AM most of us in the immediate metro will be around 10" annoying "backyard" question, but if I'm only at about 5 1/2 in noco, even around here?

This is a classic rain snow mix. Nearing a 50/50 this is a relief to read. Your reports were......concerning.

Even better question, why does either scenario result in this site going anywhere?? Because I get tired of moderating lol... oh, that's easy enough, hand over the official keys, lol

Thanks again for all you do, Chris. And for feeding our addiction with this site! What will you do when I retire or get out of TV? Come to think of it... what will I do when I retire or get out of TV? Even better question, why does either scenario result in this site going anywhere??

As a Hazelwood resident, I'll respectfully disagree about it being rare to get 10+ at and around the airport. We had 14 here in 2008, a 13 a few years later, a 10 at some point around 2011, 12 for the Palm Sunday 2013 storm, and 10 for the Jan 2014 storm. Thats a lot in a decade. It's rare for the airport to *measure* 10"+ of snow. I could be mistaken, but Lambert got either to or over 10 each of those, honestly.

I'm hoping with as widespread as this is supposed to be that a lot of people on here who missed out on the Big Boy in March 2008, or the couple that we've had that came close since (one in 2011 I believe, plus the Palm Sunday storm in 2013) can cash in on their 1-footer this time. Seeing 14 inches in '08 was just unreal, and the snowfall rates that night were just unbelievable (BRTN can vouch for that, I remember).

the February 1993 storm is one of my Top 10 favorites ever (others in that category include the ice-skating-rink storm of the very early 90's, the January 1999 snow and ice storm, March 2008's 14 inches IMB storm, the 2010 Christmas Eve Snowstorm, the 2013 Palm Sunday foot of snow, and the January 2014 Arctic Blast. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few). The worst storms were probably, in order of Horrible: (3) the 2006 Ice Storm - my mom was out of power for over a week and camped out with us, not a fun storm (2) the 2011 Blizzard Warning That Wasn't and (1) the 2009 Merry Muddy Christmas Eve.

we're officially at that time of the calendar - post-holidays - where my personal preference is either "give me a snow storm, or give me something warm enough to go hang out outside, like 50s". This rainy 38 degree crap has been MISERABLE.

I never expected December to be very cold or snowy especially after how wintry November was. We were due for a respite. I always expected this January to be cold and snowy. Just the opposite of what Dave was thinking. Let's see how this plays out. One thing that worries me is that we rarely see good winters after cold and snowy November's. exactly. I have no actual science to back this up, but as soon as November got cold & snowy, I immediately thought about the winter of '06-'07. Big ice storm and cold in late November and then................nada.

haha, and we definitely actually DID have that backwash snow the next morning, up to about an inch for Christmas morning church and breakfast. I still remember how it felt like a nice consolation prize after that awful Xmas Eve rainout.

but how warm is "warm"? I'll take 50ish for 10 days or so, but I'm good on anymore of these upper-60's-and-muggy days. Blech.
