Timing is concerning. NAM pushing to 7-8p? Or is that 6-7p?

I once took a pair of binoculars and stared at the sun for over an hour! That’s why my friends call me “whiskers”

That extra hour of sun in the afternoon really helps kick off severe season "If the moon was made out of green cheese, would ya eat it?? I know I would! Hey!" What if it was bar-b-que spare ribs? Would you eat it then? I sure would and Then I’d polish it off with a tall, cool Budweiser.

Don’t get sucked in. Don’t get sucked in. Dammit. Embrace it. Might be our last chance at disappointment for 9 months. Yeah I know. Looking forward to doing the postmortem analysis: “the cold air just didn’t make it here in time. And with this time of year, we really need [insert 2 or 3 seasonal reasons for lack of changeover].”

We got a dusting that's so thin it's almost laughable. Very exciting, lol I got up from the couch and realized I missed the biggest snow of the season.

Fun fact: Caribou Maine had the same number of SPC severe watches all of last year as St. Louis Missouri...4. I'm glad spring is almost here so we can complain about the lack of storms. Seems like the only weather we can count on anymore is searing heat or flooding rain. ^^what this guy said

I stand corrected! The county treated the heck out of my subdivision! Not biggie, part of why some times it can be block to block on how well prepped/cleared roads are. I’m like right outside of Sunset Hills. So I’m technically unincorporated Saint Louis County. I thought those yellow trucks were MODOT all these years. I’m thankful I’m still able to learn something new most days.

MODOT treated my subdivision earlier today. And the roads around the house were all treated. I wonder what happened on the interstates? modot does interstates and state highways(a lot of major roads) its your muni or the county that does the side roads nows. I stand corrected! The county treated the heck out of my subdivision!

Nothing to report down in SoCo by Mercy South. And I’m not mad about it.

00z gfs, ggem, and Ukmet are pretty suppressed next week. Interestingly, there is a very strong signal for an ice and snowstorm on the 00z gfs ensembles. If the UKMET and ggem say no, then it’s a no.

Awesome, I verified. I love how I’m like directly west of you at 270/Tesson and don’t have heavy snow. In other words - isn’t weather a kick in the pants?

Transition complete in Perryville. Pouring snow right now. Starting to form a coating. How long did it take to transition?

Somewhat confused here.
Models didn’t have rain entering the STL area till 9p; snow till midnight. Why the gloom & doom?

Even Dave lowered his numbers. Still going with a solid 4" in STL. Beat me to it

intersting observation from watching local news last night. One of the other stations was going pretty low with totals relative to the others. I suspect they may be going with “compaction” numbers? If that’s a thing. I was explaining to my fellow gym rats last night that it may very well snow 6-8” but only look like 5 or so depending on when they get up due to compaction.
Not trying to criticize anyone at all -but this could be one of those situations where Joe Q Public says, “Hey! You said 8”. There’s only 4” on my driveway!” But that 4” is heavy as heck because it’s way more cemented down. I don’t know. Fact vs opinion tends to make people a little squirrelly.

Why do I get this sinking feeling that the transition to snow takes much longer than forecast and we end up waiting all night for the transition to occur, but it never happens and we end up “singing in the rain”? Somewhat like the event years and years ago. Slam dunk snow maker but the donut hole never filled in and we wound up with just a few flakes. Not sure why I’m worried about this… My man we will be fine! 850’s will be below 0 all day. Once night time hits and dynamic cooling takes place with heavier precip moving in it’ll be seamless. “I guess I’m just a worrier. That’s why my friends call me whiskers.”
