Chris' graphic in the beginning segment was fantastic...showed the Dry air monster SE of the area, leading to metro getting the shaft. I was going to comment earlier - my relatives NE of us are seeing snow, people I know SW are getting snow, people W are getting snow and people N and NW are getting snow. Gotta love it!
I need to figure out how to convince the family that taking a 2 month vacation in winter to Buffalo is a good idea. Sure school will be missed, and work could be a problem, but I think it's probably the only way my kids will ever get to sled down a hill again! We did have that snow in December that turned to an ice skating rink, but I don't think that was enough.

Why is 55/270 pre-treated? Did the forecast change?!? Sunday has snow potential. So did today. Ha.

maybe we'll get surprised by a not-so-progressive cold front? wouldn't that be somethin'?

This made me laugh:
Major changes with respect to the forecast for Friday afternoon and Friday night. The cold front is more progressive deeper into the mid- south as models appear to be catching up on the strength of this cold/dry arctic airmass. This type of scenario unfortunately has happened at least a few other times much earlier this winter (Dec- Feb), and appears that this may be another "ghost storm" where potentially significant snowfall events modeled 72-96 hours out by and large dissapear ~2 days before a potential event.

GFS sucks too. It's definitely over. Funny how at the end of the day we get a disorganized mess just like we dealt with all winter. If not for last week's system actually coming together I don't think any of us would have even taken the bait. Sunday looks solid on this run still. looks good until tonight's run.

Deck is covered in sleet and the rails are iced over. I don’t think I saw any snowflakes but some pretty large sleet. It was fun to try to will this thing South, but I really need to stop banking on it. Like next weekend - I really should just not look that far out.
As for thundersnow - I remember it once when I was a young kid. I was shoveling what was already a bunch of snow with my dad when we saw a flash of pink and then a rumble of thunder. My dad looked up to the sky and said, “awww sh*t” and then it started pouring. Very cool.
I’ve seen it a couple other times, my that was the one I remember the most.

The facts remain uncertain, and while I tend to believe the Bob McCulluch does a decent job at his job, I believe an independent prosecutor should be called in. There are too many unknowns and putting a polarizing person at the helm of the case could do some serious damage to an already tumultuous situation. If I'm not mistaken, once a grand jury is in place, and they start hearing facts, facts that are already in dispute, isn't that evidence and what they hear sealed, meaning, we have no idea what he's telling them? I'm not an attorney, so I may b coming out of left field but this has potential bombshell/powder keg written all over it.

What will be key are truthful eyewitness interviews conducted by the FBI. Regardless of feelings, what the FBI needs are accurate depictions of the events as witnessed by those either directly involved, or witnessed. What will not be helpful is assumption or feelings about what should or should not have happened.
If I had a crystal ball, I am foreseeing no charges filed against the officer as some of the eyewitness accounts (if I believe the horribly inaccurate social media) contradict the story as told by others who witnessed it and also corroborate the account given by the officer. That said, I haven't read any depositions by anyone so this is all based on conjecture and limited readings as I have been trying to find credible information available on the interwebs. The internet used to be useful, now it's filled with so much garbage that trying to identify quality credible information is like trying to find a three-legged ballerina (Dell Griffith modified quote from Planes, Trains, & Automobiles).
What I don't like are the calls for "No Justice No Peace". We need peace in order to allow the justice to work.
