The temperature goes down but the humidity goes up, so it still feels yak. 87 degrees but the temperature is up to 78%. HI 101.8 HI ten degrees lower for me than yesterday ,but when it reaches this point, it feel like splitting hairs.

Fall's coming, just hang on another couple of months! Last year we all were so glad when the 90's finally left and we were grateful to enjoy 80's and then finally the 70's. I keep saying we may not miss this stuff in January, but as short as spring and fall are, I'm glad we have all 4 seasons.

Here's zoomed out view of the Atlantic so you can appreciate just how small Beryl is.

Here's zoomed out view of the Atlantic so you can appreciate just how small Beryl is. The forecast cone puts it on a path very near Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. It may be only a minimal hurricane or a tropical storm by the time it gets there. But they really don't need anything like that tearing up the islands again. And the NHC has also flagged that little batch of storms off North Carolina as a "watcher," too.

Well the good news is there isn’t any big time heat showing up on the models. But there isn’t much rain showing up either

Up here in Buffalo NY. Hit Niagara Falls yesterday. Came in late, about 6:30, so we decided to head straight to Canada. Great choice! Full rainbow as we arrived! Originally, we planned two days up here. Decided to cut to a drive by. Worked out fine.

A taste of the spring we never had, maybe?
Looks like TD 3 isn't going to be a problem. Except for maybe ships and far eastern Canada

While we have had terrible humidity the temos even in the plains and deserts do not seem that hot this year. Could it be from all of the volcanic ash dampening the heat

Just got home from 8 days in Gulf Shores, AL. We kept hearing about the "unusual" weather. We had some rain every day except yesterday and today on the drive home. Nothing that stopped us from doing anything, just occassional storms. Tuesday was the best because the system moved west of us and gave us a southeasterly flow with several hits of thunderstorms. Made for a GREAT day body surfing. Went out at 8am with my son-in-law. He came in around 11 because of some jellyfish stings. I was out until 12:15 or so. Luckily, no jellyfish issues that day. But, I was one exhausted 'old' man. What a great workout that is.

GEFS says we're not really all too hot throughout the rest of July, especially as we start out the last week of the month.

It has been hot at times but this so far has been what you expect around here. With the exception of May of course. Looks like we are heading into quite a dry spell though. Again not unusual this time of year.

Could it be from all of the volcanic ash dampening the heat Since the beginning of meteorological summer most locations you mentioned are actually running hotter than average in terms of max, min, and daily average temperatures. Here's the chart for average max temp departure.

Starting to see some air quality issues shows up across the country for Monday. Metro KC and Cincinnati, metro NYC and (a bit of an unusual one) the southeast shore of Lake Michigan.

So it has been warmer. I finally broke down and turned on the AC out here. I am not handling the heat as well as I have since we got here almost 4 years ago.
