6z Euro, 12z NAM and GFS all looking similar Monday. Rain to snow with accumulations being light, but up to 2” possible The 6z euro shows very little if any snow in my opinion. Maybe an hour before the band moves out and it’s not exactly heavy stuff.

Heading down to Branson and seeing a bunch of ice in spots on the side of the road clinging to some type of bush almost looks like soap suds or someone lost a truckload of small pieces of Styrofoam, l it is easily climbing up to 2/3 in on the particular stalk that it's clinging to in the ground. Thought hoar Frost was more on needles of grass and stuff not on stalks right at the ground. Hoar frost is just a very heavy frost on limbs, grass, etc. The "styrofoam" looking stuff you're referring to is frost flowers. It's the moisture inside the stem of the plant expanding during some of the first hard freezes and essentially slowly exploding out of the stem and freezing in the air through the night. Not sure how long the process actually takes though.

EURO looks good for STL* meh for central mo Yea "not great." A hair better than last night but the trends are in the wrong direction today. This is starting to look very similar to what we had early this week, maybe plus a few flakes. That is of course unless you believe the GFS and it actually pulls one out.

Euro looks much better to me for just about everyone. Showing much more moisture post frontal.

Nws boosting pops for Monday. Has less than inch most places but noted in the disco up to 2 is possible in places. Bottom line is that it's increasingly likely it will snow Monday.

I’m pretty skeptical but we will see.
You know it’s a cold day in November when the frost flowers in the shaded areas have survived the whole day.

With two days at 60 this weekend, the snow will have to come down at a good rate to overcome the warmer ground relatively speaking temps. Though, I am not saying it won't stick. Right now, most of the snow looks to happen mid to late morning up through the early afternoon on Monday.

I think it is mostly mood snow... with a light coating up to MAYBE 1 inch in some spots. Could it be a little more? I guess... but odds are too low IMO to lean that way.

I just assumed it was all hoar frost until I looked up the definition and it just showed pictures of Hoar frost that I was familiar with. Thanks for that, the family was amazed. I love this site. Thanks again Mr. Chris Higgins.

I’m so sure that it won’t be anything to worry about on Monday that I’m not even going to put a plow or spreader on the trucks.

Not much to speak of on the ICON either. Oh well it’s November and least the rug wasn’t pulled 24 hours out.

What exactly are you contemplating there giar? I see a nice deformation zone moving east across central Illinois on the background, so my guess is he is thinking about making a Zillow or Redfin account
