Kuchera map is printing out 1.5-2” for the metro.
Warm ground and time of day could eat into that a bit

No posts in 9 hrs and early fall snow in ~48. Is the forum broke? Probably because the 12z nam, icon, and gfs all pretty much suck for STL. It’s not much of a storm

Let’s hope the euro is correct. NAM and gfs are basically non events

No posts in 9 hrs and early fall snow in ~48. Is the forum broke? Probably because this isn’t a storm/system that means anything for our area.

Well at least we don’t have to worry about a Ice Storm. Who remembers the 2006 Ice Storm.

Well at least we don’t have to worry about a Ice Storm. Who remembers the 2006 Ice Storm. Very clearly remember it. I was in high school still. We didn’t have power for 4 days after that. It was beautiful to see the trees sparkle in the sun but as soon as a little breeze would start the sound of trees falling and breaking was crazy. Thank god we had a fire place where we lived.

No posts in 9 hrs and early fall snow in ~48. Is the forum broke? Maybe because people are sane and don't get excited over nothing in early November.

We were able to snag one of the few remaining Generators in the stores. But by the time we got it all hooked up the power came on .

Maybe because people are sane and don't get excited over nothing in early November. That’s quite a leap. Things are slower because many of you have grown up. I mean that in a respectable way. Back in 2006 how many of you regulars (lurkers too I guess) were in high school.. or at best college age? MANY of you! Now look at you at all. We have adults, with kids who have literally grown up with MTW! When I think about that... it really is pretty cool. With age and experience comes wisdom, patience and even moderation. Many of you/us just dont have the time to post like we once did...which is great... it means we are living our lives...hopefully living well!

By the way... I plan to fire up a new thread tomorrow that will capture the minor snow event...and ride us into Thanksgiving. Where has the time gone?

I was a senior in high school in Fall of ‘06 when so many of us joined. This place saw me through a lot of life to put it lightly. 7 years of college and 3 years of marriage with a whole lot in between and here we are. Now I’m 30, in my permanent career for the last 5 years, and have our son on the way in February. Time flies!

Chris hit it on the head. We're older and wiser. Without an influx of new people ...kids...it keeps things tolerable lol. I just missed joining fot the ice in 20o6. Found the place in Jan of 2007 with the other ice storm..mostly sw of here i think. But I as many of us have learned A LOT here in the past 13 years. That's quite a long time. Someone born when this forum started will be starting highschool next Year. I really love this place. Thanks again Chris for keeping this going for ua weather freaks..

Iirc, after next weeks cold, pattern relaxes a bit with an extended period of dry weather. I think both euro and gfs had a storm beyond d10 in the fantasy period.
