Crazy how many broadly rotating cells there are across MO. That happened quickly. But...will the lack of low level shear that jmg mentioned keep them from translating to the surface? Crazy looking radar for mid-July.

It seems like these storms are having a tough time tightening up the mesocyclones...I haven't seen anything beyond broad rotation so far. The supercell up towards Greenfield, IL looks ominous though.

Jmg mentioned low levels of 0-1km SRH which is suspect is keeping storms from wrapping up at the low levels. Still some nasty storms regardless
