I had to mow, and being the neighborly person I am, I hooked the next door neighbor up too, as they are not in town presently. It was one of the most regrettable things I've done so far this summer. As I get older I am beginning to understand why my grandfather had us do it.

These storms down south gonna head this way? Doesn’t look like they are moving much. The old MCV That is driving the small area of very intense thunderstorms and heavy rain in Southwest Missouri is not handled well by the models I'm afraid. Our in house model has been showing the core drifting northeast into the area this evening and overnight tonight maintaining some degree of convection near the center. Given what happened down near Springfield last night I opted to add some thunderstorms to the forecast for tonight with the idea that the core of the convection will not completely die off as the system lifts slowly North East. We may actually end up with a Flash flood concern in a small zone underneath that small complex as it drifts North East overnight.

The storm on Wednesday did a number to the towns sirens. They just went off here to test the repairs. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Dogs freakin out is not cool lol. But at least they know to go to the basement door and wait.

But at least they know to go to the basement door and wait. As soon as the sirens go off, our cats always head to the basement. It's an open stairway but some small comfort when we aren't home as their hiding spots are in the unfinished area. The Davis on the roof in North St. Pete is concerned about the heat index and the dew point. They are, respectively, 108 and 79. Yuck.

The area SE of Farmington is going to be experiencing some flash flooding soon if that storm sits there much longer.

I think an excessive heat warning was needed as I have a feeling we will have 3 consecutive days including today darn near 110 heat index or higher. My accunot says dewpoint 81 but as you know its usually high and the temp is 91

That cold pool looks like it’s accelerating storms towards the metro. Last check MLCAPE was at 4000 in the metro so plenty of fuel for storms
